Nta but that's really fascinating, never thought about it before
It makes sense as to why it's so easy for kids (at least back in the day) to remember the 493 pokemon (back in the day) and making the poke rap and stuff like that, you implant them into their psyche and mind, and they just accept it because its something they simply relate to something they like and it's easy to remember, especially when they keep repeating their names evey episode
It's why digimon never took off in the west past adventure, there were way too many digimon, baby forms all look the same, they don't repeat their names so it's hard for kids that never watched it before to catch up, on top of changing and introducing new digimon and cast each 1 or 2 years and over bloating the market
Compared to pokemon that had the same cast for about 7 years and even then they only changed misty and Brock was never replaced until like 2017 for the Alola season
Besides sticking to the same pokemon and even bringing old ones in the new seasons
I still fervently think that if digimon had stuck with Tai and the og gang forever the same way the show stuck to ash, it would've been bigger than pokemon, or at least competing with it steadily up to today
The thing is the first digimon movie is not good compared to Mewtwo strikes back
And digimon games are all fucking dogshit that made it way difficult for a western kid to play when they should've just copied the pokemon games instead of having the tamagotchi bullshit that can get them killed if not fed
That and the low merchandise, especially out of Japan
Tai would've been a popular worldwide character if digimon was all about him being an eternal 10 year old like ash
And even he didn't save himself from greed and embarrassment as bandaid made tri and it was shit
