It's not getting a Mega, and it was genuinely never in the considerations for receiving a Mega. Sugimori made up a lie on the spot to make the Nintendo Dream interview more interesting, because if Mega Flygon WAS in the cards, it would have been mentioned somewhere in the Teraleak, and maybe we would've even seen some of those scrapped concepts.
But no, not even a single Ctrl+F for メガフライゴン was found in the terabytes of publicly leaked information.

reminder that the reason why Flygon didn't get a mega in ORAS is because they couldn't come up with a design they deemed acceptable. MEGA DRAGONITE passed the bar for what they deemed acceptable and Mega Flygon didn't, that's how bad it was

[]Someone leaked form the Teraleak that there’s 26 new mega evolutions in Legends Z-A (3 for the starters, 3 for the Kalos starters, Mega Zygarde, Mega Eternal Floette, and the remaining 18 gets a mega for each type), and not a single one of them Mega Flygon…..or any Gen 3 mega for that matter
(Luxray and Haxorus aren’t getting megas either)
