it's dumb that water and ice are separate types anyway, same with ground and rock. if water types can manipulate ice to some extent why can't ice types do the same with water? if ice is weak to fire because it melts, why don't ice types turn into water types right after?

Are they incapable of realizing that a Pokémon can be good in spite of its typing? A fast Rock/Ice, lets say [60/120/75/100/75/115] or so, could be alright but god do you want to pick your matchups wisely.

Stellar isn't a true type, and it's also not going to exist outside of Scarlet/Violet and Champions (and ONLY during regulations where Terastal is allowed.)
It's more like an overlay than a true type, and it basically only exists to affect your Pokemon's Terastal damage boosts differently, as well as an alternate interaction with Tera Blast.
Hell, if you're counting Stellar as a type, you also need to count "Fist", "Aura/Pulse", "Bomb/Ball", "Sound", "Bite", "Wind", "Cutting", "Dancing" and "Contact" as types.

no that's dumb, stellar is presented as a type even if it's functionally more like an ability. These are just attributes from the ground up. sound should be a type though.

Maybe if you played the game, you would understand why that would be unbalanced.
Ice is fine as is because it has Aurora Veil and Snow to bolster its defenses, if you gave it actual resists, it would be obnoxiously unbreakable once you got rid of any threats packing STAB Fire, Steel, Fighting and/or Rock, which is especially nasty on a type that likes to use Blizzard, a move that not only does rough damage, but also has a chance to Freeze, which basically kills your mon before it actually faints.

I sort of get why people would use it as a tera, the resists themselves aren't bad. The mons themselves just have a bum ass deal, and I get they have broken shit to make up for it. Quiver Dance, Tinted Lens, Sticky Web, but that stuff is almost exclusively for stuff that are complete shitmons otherwise. It's not like Dragon Dance which is handed out like candy.
