I would probably nerf Fairy, but I have no idea how to without people screaming "this makes no sense!", "this type is now shit/busted" or "stop changing the type chart". I wouldn't add another type though.

Best offensive is still Ground by a long shot, with Fighting and Fire similarly strong. God help whoever at Gamefreak thought Ground should stay OP when it has some of the ugliest and most unmarketable mons.

I forgot Ghost is also kinda good again as well since they gutted moves that let non-normal types become immune to Ghost moves, Ghost is way less shitty than Steel and stronger than Dragon offensively.

Make the art/assets consistent, ie don't have things stick out because of inconsistency, eg stop mixing and matching high and low res assets together.

Get the art director back from gen 8, have different good looking areas. Improve animations for pokemon. Don't have characters walk in a straight line, stop for 2 seconds then turn 90 degrees it's fucking weird. Have characters walk and act natural.

Make the intro actually a good tech demo/cinematic intro. The gen 9 intro is god awful. It's supposed to introduce you to the world and should really show a sneak peak of the best the game has to offer, don't make it look like absolute ass.

Voice acting would be great, I know it has a million different languages though which can be a pain and have technical challenges + costs for physical carts (though maybe make the voice acting a download for chosen languages), maybe Pic jap and eng voice acting + local language subtitles.

Don't male the world feel empty, flat, lonely, etc, at least cities should have life. Most new games feel like this and it sucks.

Grass needs type-matchup buffs.
Of the starter types, Grass is by far the weakest, being the only one with more types that resist it than it can hit super-effectively, and it has more weaknesses than it does resistances.
>Grass is offensively strong against 3 types, resisted by 7 types; Defensively resists 4 types, weak to 5 types.
>Fire is offensively strong against 4 types, resisted by 4 types; Defensively resists 6 types, weak to 3 types.
>Water is offensively strong against 3 types, resisted by 3 types; Defensively resists 4 types, weak to 2 types.
Grass should be super-effective against, and resist, both Ghost and Fairy.
In folklore, plant-based things like dreamcatchers are used to ward off spirits and the like.
So it would thematically make sense for Grass to repel and be strong against some spirit-like types, being Ghost and Fairy.
Both of these types are considered some of the strongest in the entire game, so giving them a slight nerf while buffing Grass seems fair to me.

Yeah and Fire's immune to Burns. And both Fire and Water have real weather (Not terrains) that boost their types by 50%.
Give Grass some love.

Barring a toggle on the EXP SHARE a rework is needed.
I'd suggest making the EXP SHARE work up to the gym cap and is boosted once you beat them.
i.e. Team gets experience until they reach level 20 but then only if they are in the battle after that point. Once you beat the gym its raised to level 30.
The worst part of the modern EXP SHARE is having over-leveled Pokémon in your party that you've:
1. Never used
2. Didn't mean to over-level.
I'm not suggesting removing the ability to over-level but just that the EXP SHARE stops giving the party experience once they reach the gym cap.

Don't make it a menu toggle, make it a key item you can use to turn it on and off.

I have a huge document sitting around somewhere full of suggestions for how to improve concepts in Pokemon, most are good and some are terrible. Just for shits and giggles I'll throw out a really basic one most people would want someone crucified for suggesting: I think the effects of friendship should activate in pvp battles.I think it would make the game more fun.

Friendship is such a missed out mechanic. They should of introduced Pokémon that evolve with low friendship as well, and an easy way to lower friendship.
Obviously that kind of mechanic is against the ethos of Pokémon but still - if you have a move like frustration might as well make Pokémon that actually can utilize it.
Anyway the new friendship stuff is terrible. Hope its removed in next gen, was it gen 6 that started it? Awful mechanic and idea.
