Having the vines wrapped to hold its acid and thus having its mouth forcibly shut and its body bloated makes sense. In this fan design the wrapped vines do nothing and there's nothing new about the design, just bigger features. This is not a complaint about fan designs, I'm sure there's plenty better than the original, but this one's just too lazy

This is actually both underdesigned and pointless.
Why is Victreebel strangling itself here? Why the design change? Why is the top leaf huge? This specific fan design doesn't answer these questions.

The real design does. Victreebel is strangling itself to desperately contain its acid, which has run over from the overflow of Infinity Energy. It's actively depriving itself of carbon dioxide, hence why the edges of its top leaf are losing their chlorophyll. Its side leaves have become vestigial, with most of its body overworking itself to produce acid en-masse. Its bell mouth is both closed and its cheeks are puffed up to show that it's struggling to contain its own acid. And the bottom bell distorts due to gravity, showing that it doesn't have enough strength to levitate anymore, it's forced to bounce around.

Plus it mentions how it uses the big leaf to spread it's sweet scent. I do think it tie's together the design with the more goofy pre evos too and I think it does still have fangs too you just only see them when it attacks.

I like the current design but I'd prefer it without the auto erotic asphyxiation. Just make him fat, no need to have him choking himself for sexual pleasure

But it's not doing a good job in OP's image cause his mouth is wide open. That's the point, in the official renders that neck is TIGHTLY shut. OP is just "Victreebel, but larger". The real mega has an actual design philosophy behind it, indicating what mega evolving actually changed it. And its fangs are still there, they're just in its mouth. In the promo video you can see the fangs when Victreebel is terrorizing the duo exploring the abandoned building.
