No, what Ghetsis wanted was to create a prison planet they'd rule with an iron fist. Where, only Team Plasma was allowed to own Pokemon and the rest of the world couldnt. Basically 'You'll own nothing and be happy' was their shtick but with virtue signaling and SJWing Pokemon rights as cover for their world domimation scheme.

We all agree Gen 7 was when things started going downhill

Yet you still happily slurp up a new set of fire/water/grass starters with progressively shittier designs, new box legendaries that are still version exclusive, and regional pikachu clone every generation. But yeah, you're right, they're really mixing things up now. The open world has especially been a great change.

idk i kinda like the idea that nobody can compete with giovanni's level of evilness. like how in pokemon master's ex he has his pimp suit. he's cartoonishly evil compared to all the other "evil" teams, because he's the only one that's realistic, and if our real world had pokemon, the results would probably be horrifying.
