I just tried playing ORAS for the first time in years, and the game is actually much, MUCH better than I remembered.
I remember being so disappointed because of a few things in ORAS: mainly "The Battle Frontier project has started" teaser, the lack of Gym Leader rematches, the permanently closed Game Corner in Mauville City, the removal of the Berry blending minigame and the removal of the Safari Game in the Safari Zone.

But now, looking back, these things seem like very minor nitpicks in comparison to everything else that ORAS does right: New Mega Evolutions, DexNav, Soaring, vastly improved Secret Bases and Contests, etc, Amie, Super Training, etc.

Was I too harsh with ORAS in the past? Were WE too harsh with ORAS in general? What do you guys think?

But now, looking back, these things seem like very minor additions in comparison to everything that ORAS does wrong: no actual Battle Frontier, no Gym Leader rematches, the permanently closed Game Corner in Mauville, the removal of the Berry blending minigame, the removal of the Safari Game, and a story that feels like a step down in replayability.

Was I too generous with ORAS in the past? Were WE too generous with ORAS in general? What do you guys think?

This one still hurts to be honest, especially because there's an NPC at the Battle Resort who outright tells you that the Frontier is going to be more "special and robust" than the Battle Resort (facepalm)

This one is also annoying, but I think ORAS offers a lot of cool daily Battles to make up for the lack of Gym Leader rematches

Not really ORAS's fault at all.

The new way to make Poke blocks in ORAS is much better imo, good riddance.

The Dex Nav basically replaces the Safari Zone minigame

So yeah, I'd say only the Battle Frontier teaser really annoys me.

But even then, I don't think the devs did it with the intention of teasing us.
