Guys like to look sharp too so I don't get what GF's problem is when it comes to fashion and character customization. You should have just as many types of clothes regardless of gender. And I don't have a problem with some "unisex" options either, but clothing that is specifically designed for each gender is a must.

It's why I ended up picking Gloria in SwSh and Selene in USUM where they had it far better off, and it took until the DLC for Victor to get some solid stuff (too little, too late), while I picked Rei for Arceus because both of them had (mostly) near-identical items and it ultimately didn't matter, be it who's was better or fashion in general for once.
Based on a few recent screenshots, I'm optimistic that Paxton will get some good stuff compared to Calem, who was shafted harder than any other but the Paldea duo, but I'm gonna wait until the inevitable Switch 1 version leaks somewhere to see for myself.

I'll be playing as the male, because even with the fantasy element of video games, there's functionally no difference between the avatars (unlike the new Borderlands where all 4 player options offer something more than just a avatar to represent the player), so I'll default to my real world gender. When picking a girl at the start of Pokémon inherently locks you into a differing playstyle to the male option (the way picking Harlowe, Amon, Vex or Rafa locks you into a particular playstyle due to skill trees and action skill options) I'll start double-running with both or picking the one with the most interesting effects regardless of gender (picking Harlowe first in BL because throwing nukes around looks INCREDIBLY fun and her Flux Generator skill looks like it'll be OP as fuck at max level skilled right).
