You're really coping here. GO tapped into a completely different market on the universal notion of "catching Pokemon IRL would be so cool", boosted by 20th anniversary fanfare in the summer time. Any contribution from XY was minor especially when Pokemon was already a household name before that.

Sun/Moon looked cute, but it was not fun.
Every City in Alola feels like a fraction of what they tried to do with Kalos. Graphics are better but there's less actual substance to the game world. There are empty construction lots on every island (which in the Teraleaks were supposed to be for new Gyms). Victory Road "in development". Ultra Space is just hallways. Nothing cool like Lumiose City, or the Anistar Crystal or the Battle Mansions.

Definitely not. I was there for this and everyone slammed about game not being like Pokemon Emerald. XY had much better reception as a new generation release.
