I don't think so, precisely because of that aforementioned love for children the average person has. When an average person sees somebody attracted to children, our first thought is one of sheer disgust, for children (and animals) cannot defend themselves or consent to the human's acts. The reciprocity is the key here. Animals and children will never be able to consent to be sexualised, and everybody is just afraid of pedophiles acting up eventually when they are tired of their porn (the whole "porn will make them not act up" is fake. We have regular porn in the thousands, yet rapes still happen).
