Hey! Not sure if anyone’s still doing Dynamax Adventures these days, but I figured I’d ask just in case.
I’m trying to get these two legendaries:

>Latios
But I don’t have their paths unlocked yet... yeah, I’m one of those who fell for the “Shield has Melony” meme. Don't judge me!!!
If anyone has either of their paths saved and wouldn’t mind hosting a lobby, I’d really appreciate it! You don’t need to clear the run with me. Just share a code and let me join. Once I’m in, you’re totally free to quit; the path should save on my end.

They really fucked up multiplayer DA. It should be the best way to play but instead it’s just flatly the worst due to being unable to turn off animation and limited communication (that’s just nintendo, though)

The sword player here, sorry for the delay everyone, I realized I needed to encounter the Pokemon in Dynamax Adventures first so that I could select it, but I'm having trouble finding them. It may be a while longer, apologies.

It's extremely rare for white genes to be stronger, but it happens.

Oh no, I thought you already had one of the paths! I just wanted to clarify: I'm NOT asking anyone to grind for these Legendaries if they don’t already have them. I was just hoping to find someone who already has the path and might be willing to share.
I’ve been running Max Lair for a very long time, and from experience, Ho-Oh and Latios only show up randomly at about a 2.1--2.5% rate. So yeah, it’s really rare even if you're playing on Sword. If you're doing it just to help us, please don’t feel obligated... it’s not worth the grind unless you're personally collecting them like I do.
The fastest way to get a guaranteed path is if someone already caught the Legendary, puts it in the first slot of their party, completes a Max Lair run, and then talks to Peonia (see attached image). But I totally understand if you don’t have it either.

Yep, you can still get the path noted even if you’ve already caught the Pokemon.
You won’t be able to catch it again (it will just run at the end), but the path will still be saved and shareable.

I personally don’t mind at all... I’ve already got everything except Ho-oh and Latios, so I can help with the rest.
Timing is the only hiccup. The weekend’s nearly over, and I’m not sure how late I’ll be able to stay up tonight. I’ll try to be online around 10pm EST and prepare two of the notes just in case we make it.
I can’t do trades during the workweek, but if the thread is still alive somehow and I get a bit of free time, I might swing back in.

I got the Latios and Ho-Oh dens written down. The week is tougher to coordinate for certain, like I said I'll occasionally be in this thread or in whatever the closest thing is to the wifi general.

Good morning! Yeah, that’s fair. Gen 8 isn’t for everyone. I actually thought the DLCs were pretty decent, but I totally get why the whole “adven-tour” setup doesn’t click with some folks.
I think I ended up enjoying it more than I probably should haha. The roguelite-style randomness of each run really kept me hooked. Every path feels a little chaotic and unpredictable, which somehow works for me. I know, I’m a bit weird for thinking like that.
Anyway, thanks for the kind words... it genuinely helps make the Ho-oh/Latios search feel a little less lonely

This is actually my first time posting in /vp/, and I’m still figuring things out here. I kinda showed up out of desperation, lol. But I’ll keep searching for wherever the /wifi/ general ends up once this thread dies out.

My experience with Dynamax adventures is as a shiny hunter.
My interactions with them are overwhelmingly negative since playing them without animations is faster even with the AI actively sabotoging your runs. Successful runs have more to do with what the Raid Boss did/didn't do as opposed to what the player's strategy is.

Yeah, i totally get that. everything you said is super valid, especially the part about animations dragging and the AI just sabotaging for fun...
but i still feel like there’s something sweet buried under all that mess. when you’ve got a pre-made party and everyone’s on the same page, it actually feels strategic and kinda fun? like if you run with 1 blocker + 1 debuffer + 1 healer + 1 dps, the whole thing flows so much smoother. it’s even more obvious in the Endless version of the mode. Strategy really shines there, even if luck is still a big factor.
But yeah, the lack of proper matchmaking and zero communication tools is such a missed opportunity. it makes the whole experience feel negative for most players unless you’re coordinating off-game somehow.
So yeah, i totally get why most people bounce off it haha.

Are you wanting to do regular raids or Dynamax Adventures specifically?
For DA there's basically no barrier to entry, you can go to the Crown Tundra very early in the SwSh(like 1st or 2nd gym), get some Lvl 65 mons from there and rofl stomp the main game.
You have to get to the 6th gym to get the shiny charm, so if you import a living dex then your DA shiny odds becomes 1/100. My average hunt for a shiny legendary is around 70 captures/successful raids though some have gone to 150 captures.(Dialga)

oh i just need to unlock any shield exclusive dynamax adventures, opposite of OP. i lost my save file a couple years ago before i ever could and i've been replaying recently, so i don't really know the specifics of how it works

Just need to find someone to host them, the Shield host can get you the dens even if they've already done them. Only takes like 10 minutes write them and 20 minutes for a raid.
