Does anyone else feel extremely guilty after using pkhex? I downloaded a shiny living dex Ultra Sun save file to give myself some shinies and now I feel horrible

No.

No. Pokémon is not worth the time spent and it isn't fun either in most cases.
I only never cheat when playing challenge runs or on romhacks.

You don’t grow attached to the pokemon you raise? I’ve had some for years, I think that’s why I feel so guilty

the feeling of guilt means it's not too late for you. you can still go back

I didn’t really mind when I did it for wonder cards because the game generates them. But copying a pkm file felt horrible and I’ll never do it again

Yes. It's lazy and cheating, plain and simple. That's why I only use PKHex when absolutely necessary. Shiny hunting is already sucking the fun out of the game, and genning your shinies is sucking the soul out of shiny hunting altogether. If you get everything you want the minute you want it, there's no point even playing the game anymore.
I feel shitty for bringing an genetically-superior 5/6IV Übermensch supersoldier-mon into existence too, every time (only a little though, because breeding for IVs is annoying and EV training is AIDS in every game). They never get to bond with a trainer properly and they always end up rotting in a box waiting to be picked for the most situational moments ever.
Don't take the PKHex pill bros...

Fuck no I've been using gameshark since gen 1. Got to play the surfing pikachu minigame without an N64 + Pokemon Stadium + transfer pack. In gen 2 everyone loved me because I could get them shinies and legendaries easily. It was so much fun. Gen 3 I didn't have to buy tons of other shit to unlock pokemon. In gen 4 when they added wifi battles I just used action replay to generate perfect ev/iv pokemon to fight people on gamebattles (old tournyfag site that eventually got bought by mlg and eventually died) and, at the time, I thought anyone that actually went through all of the effort to get the legit pokemon with perfect stats were fucking deranged complete losers who were fucked in the head. But when I thought that way I was 14 and I can appreciate doing it legit now, but it definitely doesn't make me feel bad or make me feel like I missed out on anything meaningful. It just seemed like a waste of time and sometimes money when you can easily hack it in. All I needed to buy was a gameshark or action replay and I didn't have to worry about getting anything. Why would I force myself to waste a bunch of my time when I just want to battle and don't find the grind of breeding to be interesting or engaging, and I know I don't have to do it? It's not like anyone can tell if I did it legit or not in my single player game if the end result is the exact same. Breeding legitly is something I just never would have done because I wasn't interested and had other things I wanted to do more, so I never would have experienced the fun of playing wifi battles in gen 4 if I didn't do it.

You'll never get this feeling of guilt if you RNG manipulate, because you both have to work a bit for your reward, and the prize you earn is one the game properly bestows on you.

The only time I've ever bred perfect pokemon legit was on pokemmo because there was no way to cheat. Plus it's an mmo, so the grinding is what I was up for doing in that case because I felt like grinding an mmo. It is somewhat satisfying to make a legit perfect pokemon, but I definitely wouldn't say it bothers me if I hack. It's something you should probably try to do a few times as a challenge and to understand the mechanics and how to do it. But it's not like you're missing out on something extremely fun or incredible. It's mostly just a chore that takes a lot of time instead of skill or something. Who can waste the most time only works for MMOs.

I'm not going to grind another 1600 eggs for shiny greninja lol

It depends on how you want to do your playthrough. I do not feel guilt because I've set my boundaries ahead of time whether if I should use PKHex or not.
>>58159881
This is a valid reason to use it. I've done my time on Bike Simulator with cart and I'd rather not go back if I can help it.

I haven't even touched a pokemon game since 2017. I used showdown for a while after that but quit long before swishy swoosh was even announced. Just don't worry about it nig.

I don't get the shame. But I don't get shiny hunting either.

Having a shiny just show up without grinding for it feels better. It's organic. It's luck, not grind. Grinding for shinies makes me feel numb. Takes away the joy of finding one when you reduce it down to raw numbers.

You cheated no one but yourself.

Yeah, I get it. But shiny hunting is a mix of RNG and hard work. It's a show of commitment, even if it's a huge waste of time. Sometimes you want a specific shiny and you don't want to wait until the next forever to come across it naturally.

I just use it so I can play the game with whatever guys I want (getting something like Houndour or Pikachu early in Johto for example). Much more fun than using the same shitters for the 100th time then dumping them once I get to the mons I actually want to use.

>Conduct surprise trade
>Get a shiny named PokeFart.jizz or whatever youtube channel they're trying to advertise to kids
>Take whatever item it has, release it

Shinies must be born from blood or luck.

I don’t use it for meaningless Shinies so no

Why would I? Shinies are basically just color swaps post gen 2 (the only gen with shines where stats matter for them) and I'm not going to sit there resetting or running through grass for 3 weeks just to catch one shiny with the stats I want.
>CHEATER!
Yeah, at a single player game, the fuck are you going to do about it faggot?
Anonymous No.58161773
I've never bothered with anything more than EV training when playing normally, and I'm one of those that likes their Pokemon "organic" as well, so I've never gone all in 31x6 shiny boogaloo with it either. But for anything below that- EVs, egg moves, experience levels, cloning Pokemon to play multiple Cups in the old console games with level requirements- all fair game. A lot of us have put vastly more than enough real hours into these games to "deserve" the time saves.

Pic unrelated, exploding Lickylicky is just a funny thought.

It's just a part of growing up, when I was a kid I really bought into the cheat cartridge phase to get mew and level 100s. After a while I realised that the enjoyment I got from having what I wanted slowly faded to nothing and I haven't cheated ever since.

There's no point in playing the game if you run out of progression.

if you generate it from lv 1 and raise it completely to what you had planned, I don't see it that much off from shiny breeding. Sure it's not as fun or exciting, but it's only truly "defeating the purpose" to print an exact mon imo.

>Clearing out boxes
>Releasing some obviously hacked shinies that named after websites
>Shiny Lycanroc-M nicknamed Sasha
>OT is just a normal name
>Not perfect IVs but close
>Fully EV trained with hidden ability

This thing has been in a Home box for like four years and I don't know how it got here.

Lol no. I'm not a faggot like you idiots who think spending 6hrs looking for/ breeding a shiny with perfect stats and nature is a worthwhile experience. I modify the mon I want and move on with my fucking day.

GameShark was the only way I was able to access Darkrai, Lugia, Deoxys, etc in emerald so anyone who complains can eat a dick. So much locked away content or ease of method but nah, pissing away my time is the way to go.

I actively have a little collection of shiny hacked pokemon I've gotten from wonder trades and meme global trade requests like 'level 91 magikarp from lets go'. I like to imagine I run a shelter for genetically altered pokemon that have been rescued.
