Definitely Galar. Inteleon and Cinderace are fucking hideus. Rillaboom it's whatever, but the drum and the sticks are so stupid, they didn't know how to incorporate it in the design.

Gen 6 started the dumbass 'feminine' starter pokemon but the designs were still fine. Gen 7 got worse, so on and so forth. Can't wait for whatever garbage gen 10 starters look like.

It's between Gen 8 or 9 for me. They're the only gens where I only like one of the starters. The ones I like are close enough I might as well judge based on the ones I hate. Overall I'd call Quaquaval the worst individually so 9 it is

The only starter I really hate is Quaquaval. Otherwise I just dislike them a little bit (like Delphox and Inteleon) or I am just indifferent towards them.
But even if I hate Quaquaval, I really like Skeledirge and Meowscarada is decent so I can't say Gen 9 for sure.
The two gens that I felt the most indifferent were Gen 5 and Gen 8. I don't really hate any of them, but I just couldn't care. I personally would say Gen 8 just because of Inteleon.

Anon...Besides Quaquaval (and H Samurott) because they came afterwards, all of them got a decent amount of votes in the Pokemon of the Year 2020 vote (even Inteleon), especially Roar (which is also in Smash) and Cinderace.

Samurott gets too much hate. I was 20 when I first obtained one. That was in 2011 and I still enjoy the pokemon as a water starter in the series.

I like Chespin and Chesnaught is fine. Quilladin is awful I agree, but no worse than Grookey's middle evo whose name I forget. The entire Grookey line sucks though.
Fire types I like every starter but Tepig, and Crocalor. None of their stages are anywhere near as bad as Incineroar individually, but I love Litten and Torracat
