Why do these 3 seem to have some special treatment in the Switch games?

The only game that cucked them was PLA.
I honestly really don't mind since this is my absolute favorite starter trio.
Yes Gen 1 starters are also everywhere, but everybody knows this is because KANTOOOO

Gamefreak mostly loves Gen 3-5 and only masturbates Gen 1 because marketing says so.

because they already invested extra in them in gen 6. remember, gen 3 and gen 1 are the only gen starters that get mega evolutions.

they're just carrying forward the pattern that was established in the 3DS era.

I really think that the reason for this is because mega evolutions were intended to return in the Crown Tundra early in development.

It's not actually confirmed I should've phrased it better. I just believe that because most of the Pokemon with megas were included after the DLC, and the Hoenn starters being the only returning trio really makes me think that they were only included because they were some of the notable megas.

The fact that Sceptile was in Drayton's team (Dragon) still baffles me. It is not Dragon type and isn't the mon he uses Tera Dragon on. Hydrapple was literally right there (although I guess Game Freak didn't want to give him another 4x Ice weakness). Sceptile really feels like an anomaly lmfao
