I completely agree. They are completely ruined by the amount of meaningless dialogue, and it feels like they tryed to make a side quest for every gym, but they completely failed
>>58168067 >But they look like flawless masterpieces next to anything from the 3ds
they didn't then and still don't though >They werent an improvement in anything but story
>>58167664 (OP) >The threshold for how many people compliment an underappreciated game has tipped too far and now it could be considered popular >Game actually bad???
Fuck off, engagement bait parasite. All Pokemon games are bad. It's just the third least bad game or something.

I’m not even complaining I’m genuinely curious because most of the time it ends up in “yawnfag” and another dude arguing in a loop, surely you realize you can’t change each other’s opinions right?
Also wym “shit tased” do you think I said that because I hate/love the game or somethin lol

They had many flaws, yes. But you can tell they still tried.
And that's something you can solely tell is missing from the 3D generations.
BW may have the "best" plot, but its still shit. Like its really bad, and its sin is focusing more on the shitty plot than the games before it, and they still haven't corrected course from it.
>>58168324 >But you can tell they still tried.
Everything in Black/White feels like a first draft finalized with no edits by people who genuinely saw themselves as geniuses that could do no wrong nor make anything bad. It's the exact opposite of trying, it's acting like it was effortless.

I wonder how much of it is just autism. Autists can get really worked up when you criticize a special interest and this board is a testament to the number of autists the franchise attracts.
>>58168474 >Let's Go
kino >Legends Arceus
agreed, plass is a dogshit tech demo
bw is good and better than both for having national dex, more side features, better music, better exploration, online, and better postgame thougheverbeit
>>58168489 >better exploration
Red and blue did the best they could on the gameboy with like 8kb of ram and 1mb of cartridge storage to create a sense of exploration. 14 years later BW comes out and is the same but more on rails.
PLA does a way better job of capturing that sense of exploration. It does it as well as something from the mid 2000's.

Probably a lot. I know a guy who got so hyperfixated on Gen 5 that he took a writing class in college, wrote about it and why it's so great, then proceeded to get top of his class and even convinced his teacher and a solid chunk of the class.

Theres just so much wasted potential. Its one of the best selling game franchises but refuses to innovate and wallows in mediocrity.
Just look how little it changed compared to other games at the time like final fantasy, mario, zelda, megami tensei, Ys, etc...
We don't even get cool spinoffs anymore, its all mobileslop.

It demonstrates that Team Plasma are hypocrits. Despite the fact the group seemingly wishes for the liberation of Pokémon, not all of its members actually agree with that notion. It's a lot more apparent later on in the game where some grunts are clearly assholes while others actually believe in the cause.
>>58168603
The games have almost always been doing that.
To me, it's a mix of the battles, story and side areas. But to others, it could be something different.
>>58168670
If you're going on about the whole "there were children present" most people won't believe children. There's a reason why child testimonies are worth less than adult testimonies in courts of law.
>>58168666 >introduce interesting dilemma of pokemon being treated like slaves >constantly portray the group as evil >the only member who isn't evil straight up admits you were right at the end
It looks deep at first glance, but isn't actually any deeper or more thought provoking than gen 3 in the context of the plot
>>58168444 >>58168572
It's easy to make Black/White's plot sound good on paper. It's when you experience the execution firsthand and start noticing all the inconsistencies threaded throughout that how terrible it is becomes painfully apparent.
>>58168592 >"Don't worry dear player, the premise of our game's story is total bullshit and this isn't a challenging tale about Pokemon liberation at all, but rather a generic take-over-the-world plot with an easily penerated politico-philosophical veneer!"
>>58168714
it's shallower and less thought provoking than both Gen III and Gen IV, plots which actually took their underlying themes seriously and did not go out of their way to undermine them nor shove them down your throat, let alone at the simultaneously
