There's nothing wrong with silly, but there should be a healthy balance. Especially for megas which are in large part supposed to be extreme evolutions for the sake of battle.
There can absolutely be a world where we get BOTH just as we did when they were originally introduced.
We should be able to get goofy/cute shit like Mega Evolution causing Kangaskhan's baby or Shellder to be influenced rather than the base Pokemon as well as shit like Metagross becoming an absolute unit or Absol somehow becoming even more majestic.

I think part of what made Pokemon work as a franchise in the first place is a good balance of cool, cute, and goofy designs.
The issue isn't goofy designs existing, but rather that the ratio is way off compared to earlier gens, especially with ZA, where GF seems to only want to highlight the goofy ones.

You should regret it. Gen 5 being their attempt at an actual JRPG story was abysmal. Cheren and Bianca interrupt the player’s progress at every turn, and say nothing of substance outside of their Nimbasa encounters. They barely even interact with each other outside of the initial scene in the protagonist’s room.
