Reminder that the original story is called "The Girl Who Married the Bear" by Catharine McLellan, specifically the version told by Maria Johns, is a story from the Tlingit tribe, in itself the bear (typhlosion/piloswine/slaking) does what it does out of revenge because the girl stepped on and insulted the bear's excrement, which is a taboo.

The pokemon lore leaks are more akin to the bible book on Jesus' time as a child where he killed people or resurrected another dead child that he was suspected to have killed to have him testify that Jesus is innocent (and then lets him pass away again)
