Gamefreak must have fucked up. It is my belief that they mistook Corviknight as a Flying Dark type and never fact checked it as they made Tinkaton.
Now the typing makes sense; they thought Fairy was going to be super effective

Realtalk, it's been years, why does Tinkaton still make people seethe? There are a million instances of the Pokedex not matching the gameplay but this is the only instance (besides maybe Magcargo being hotter than the sun) that I see people bring up all the fucking time.

Corviknight is the kind of design that's edgy, but not so edgy that it comes off as over the top. The types of people stuff like that appeals to are those who want to be seen as cool. Having their badass mon taken out by something cute and girly isn't cool and thus makes them look less cool as a result for liking Corviknight

Also Corviknights are used as transport in other regions. Can't do it in Paldea, they use Squawkabilly.

There's a fun implication that some corviknight taxis just got annihilated out of the sky with a full cab.

Because it doesn't make sense as a matchup, every other rival pokemon has counters to the other. Tink's lore makes zero sense with how she is statistically, and type-wise.
