Not only did I want this, I still have mine. The battery life is borked and the connector pins can be a bit temperamental but it still works, though years of use, wear and tear have resulted in the tribal pattern on the outside of the shell being scratched off.
I like whipping it out anytime my younger step-brothers get uppity or try acting older than they are (16 and 13) to humble them by reminding them that my GBA is their senior so they need to quit acting too big for their britches and stay humble.
