I've been watching Mr Enter and I've noticed in his livestreams, he said his least favorite Mon is this one called "Gholdengo"

As someone who hasn't cared for Pokemon for years, I would like to hear from the Pokemon community if Enter is cringe or based for hating Gholdengo?

Based. Gholdengo is just a pile of coins that took up the pokedex slot of 1000. They could've released the substitute doll pokemon or some other surprise for pokemon 1000, but they went with a pile of coins. Even it's pre-evolution, an ant in a mimic box of coins was more interesting.

They made the 1000th pokemon a pile of gold that makes it rain because pokemon is a money printer

A fair number of women love Gholdengo for some reason. It gets similar self-insert ship art to Intelleon and such

His explanation of the #7 spot in particular was just heartbreaking, with him saying how it keeps him up at night how his content was by far the most popular it was ever been when his videos were poorly made and at their most toxic. Once he put more effort and improved his tone and criticisms, his views went down.

all I know about it is that it looks like a string cheese mascot, surfs on coins, is ghost/steel for some reason, is immune to ALL STATUS for some reason, and it's pokedex #1000, which they built up to with its prevo collecting 999 coins, or whatever. Idk. I think it's dumb, I don't like it, but I don't overly hate it per se. I think its belt is dumb, I think its design looks bad, and I think it's artificially strong for no good reason, but apart from those big flaws there's nothing else wrong, really. I think it didn't deserve the #1000 number, though. I still hate it though. FF or FFF tier, but not irredeemably bad despite that.

What possible good reason could they have to make it have 133 special attack, anon? Why did they give it an exclusive ability that prevents it from having ANY status moves used against it? Why did they give it a signature move named "Make It Rain" that's just a better draco meteor/leaf storm/overheat by having perfect accuracy and only lowering spatk by one stage? They didn't have to give it this many boons for it to have been good, it's artificially strong for no good reason.

I didn't care for Gholdengo when I first saw it. It's grown on me.

I like its little fang. I like its hand-on-hip stance. I like how I just lugged a little chest around Paldea collecting coins until it made a big, silly coin dude. Mr. 1000.

Gholdengo is a friend, but he NEEDS TO BE NERFED INTO THE GROUND HOLY FUCK. Good as Gold is fucking bullshit. That is not an ability that belongs on something with those stats, that typing, or that fucking movepool. You can't use Rapid Spin because ghost and you can't Defog because that activates good as Gold for some goddamn reason and you can't ignore it because it was a 120bp move that only lowers its SpAtk by ONE stage when it also has nasty plot.

REVAVROOM'S SIGNATURE MOVE LOWERS ITS SPEED BY TWO STAGES. AND ITS JUST A 100BP STEEL MOVE! Fucking eat me.

Anyway, Gholdengo is cool though, I dig em but I still don't know why he has a surfboard.

I used to unironically hate this thing. I still do, sort of. But ever since actually using one on my team, I don't think I hate it nearly as much as I used to. It's goofy, sure. But I think it has some personality compared to other Gen 9 mons like the Paradoxes, Dudunsparce, the IKEA mice, etc. He's okay, this guy.

giving it a +2 to spatk makes it weaker? dude what are you smoking. If it had 113 base spatk it would have 252 evs 31 ivs, timid nature 325, whereas it normally has 365 with 252 evs 31 ivs, timid nature. If you give it a +2 to the 325 it brings it all the way up to 650. That's insanely high. But it would be more fun to fight against because it doesn't just cancel the move, it lets you do LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE, you can STILL choose to defog if you think the risk of it switching in is worth clearing hazards, and if you have a plan otherwise. Instead of restricting players and making you say, "well I HAVE to do x or y instead of this because I know z will happen", you have choices. It's FUN. It's incredible that you accuse me of having lost to it when you seem to have never even played competitive. Fwiw I haven't touched it since gen 7 so lol, lmao. You're just a moron.
