He was a member of the first team I completed Battle Subway Super Singles with. Scarfed Jolly boar went the whole way, not even with a hidden ability. Just Blaze.

You know the more I look at at it, the more I actually start to like this design. I feel like the only reason it gets hate is because it was the third fire/fighting starter. But if you set that aside, and just solely look at the actual mon itself for what it is, and not the circumstances surrounding it, it's actually not a bad pokemon. Its shiny is also really cool.

It was popular to hate gen 5 when it came out and Emboar being fire/fighting certainly didn't help it's reputation at the time. Overall though it's a very underrated design and most people now look back on gen 5 fondly.
