But also, when it comes to luchadores isn't part of the appeal the fact that as long as you have a mask, anyone could be a luchadore? Some luchadores even play their character like its the mask that gives them their prowess like a spirit rather than a reflection of their training. When you're not beholden to trying to fit a very specific archetype mandated by your boss to ensure that you actually get top billing and thus paid you naturally just end up with a wider variety of body types.

1. Hawlucha is great. Exactly what I want from a Mega design. No notes.

2. Victreebel is...fine, I guess? I don't like it, but there was always a low ceiling for this one. Making it look dumb and hoping people meme it was probably the best chance it had.

3. Dragonite is shit. They clearly want to avoid getting too close to fanart designs and so are forced to make it as stupid as humanly possible to ensure no claims of plagiarism.

I expected the worst after they showed Mega Dragonite, but M-Victreebel was better and so is M-Hawlucha. Maybe their strategy this time was to show the lamest, laziest Mega first, so that each following reveal would be a more pleasant surprise.
