The whole reasoning behind the Z-Moves, Dynamax, Terastalization, was because they thought they had to keep re-inventing the wheel to keep people interested. Them coming crawling back to megas and promoting each one shows just how important megas were for hype.
Z-Moves and Terastalization just plain aren't marketable, and Gigantamax just had people asking "where are the megas?"

I really think it'll be different this time. Don't be surprised when gen 10 not only keeps megas, but adds new ones. They tried to branch out, try new gimmicks, it didn't work, so now they're going back to the tried-and-true.

Yes. Mega Evolution was always kino of the highest order and I'm tired of /vp/ pretending otherwise.

I hope not.

Call me a pokeBoomer, but I don't want these gimmicks in my games. I don't really care for expanding the evolution line beyond what was already a cool and subdued design into a dude-bro ow-the-edge cringe design.

I just want a cool region with no new pokemon. We have enough.
