1. It’s been 50 for a long time so it was due for a refresh

2. There are a LOT of players between 40-50 who simply never level up again because they think the tasks to do so are too tedious and unfun to bother with, while the reward for hitting 50 is trivial

3. Dynamax greatly increased xp rates since it’s so easy to solo them, so a lot of underleveled people were able to catch up fast

4. This really should have been number 1, with XP having little value to most players, lucky eggs do not sell. New structure and new goal means eggs become a hot commodity again

It also has a bonus function of tricking retarded level 50 autismos into doing another grind to hit max level again. I’d imagine hitting 80 will be even more tedious and exclusive to only the biggest autists

Got a Go Plus+, do you need to do this NFR shit for high priority connections or is it just placebo?
The plus doesn't even show up in the list of connected devices, I have to disconnect it from Go, manually connect to my phone's bluetooth, connect to it, turn bluetooth off and on so it's still in the list and then connect because Go won't connect to the Plus if it's bonded to the phone.

Thanks to whoever told me to tank in the GBL. I made over 150k after 5 days. I'm only at rank 17 atm but I should be able to get to 20 by the end of the season. Even if I don't, I still made a lot of Stardust and a decent amount of Rare Candies and TMs.

You can ignore 90% of the game and focus on one aspect with almost no detriment. Only thing that has changed is the marketing switched from trying to get new players to player retention with more fomo targeting with HOIIIIPE and influencers always play up hype.

People don't play this game for the sake of finding Pokémon in the real world anymore, like they used to pre-2020. People in general don't like going outside for anything other than organized meetups anymore. Most people that play the game these days either just do it to get shinies or rare Pokémon to transfer to HOME, or they try to minmax every possible aspect of the game they care about, which usually means spending tons of money on raids and max battles. Ironically, the most enjoyable parts of this game are completely external to the events they run:
>Finding evolved Pokémon in the wild, usually being exclusive to certain environments
>Going for walks and occasionally hatching a rare Pokémon from an egg
>Doing the occasional raid or max battle so that you have something else cool in your collection
It's pretty much impossible to enjoy this game as a community-based game anymore, you might as well just burn a bunch of money and either raid from home or spoof. The only real enjoyment I get out of this game anymore comes from the few days per month when my one friend that still plays the game is willing to trade with me. Honestly I was considering jumping ship after this season because of how bad it's gotten, but they announced they're increasing the level cap and that might be the one thing they could do to make this game worth playing again. Having some sort of goal that doesn't require constant raiding or battling would feel like such a breath of fresh air from this rotting corpse of a video game concept.

I seriously doubt it's worth the money since it's quite an expensive monthly fee. Maybe theoretically if you max out on raid passes whenever possible you'd safe money on it?

Nah. The community meetups I've attended (this year's Go Fest Max Finale and last year's Go Fest) were alright. It's mostly filled with the type of nerdy dudes you'd expect to go to a park to play Pokémon Go, but most if not all of them were very welcoming and helpful.

I guess it could, depending on how much you want the raid boss and how many passes you got, but I think it's almost 100% not worth it. Also

This one makes of breaks these apps usually. That's unironically one of the reasons to raid-countermaxx in the game: so that weak remote raiders don't screw you over.

Also raid apps will boot you out if you try to be a trooper and wait it out.

Notice to All Raid Leeches:

Effective 10:00 AM on December 2, 2025, all support from raids will be canceled for anyone above level 40. We, the Raidchads, are done footing the bill for your weakness. Levels 39 and below get a pass, as they have just started the game and need time to catch up—but anything above that is unacceptable.

If you show up with a Heatran, Eeveelution, Slaking, or any other mememon, you will be blacklisted and exposed. You will not succeed. Instead, you will be mocked ruthlessly and unapologetically.

Luckily for you, Hanke has delivered a lifeline this season: constant streams of XL candies and strong, valuable mons. The introduction of Trade Sundays gives you 2 XL candies; participating in in-person raids gives you 7 XLs, with a bonus. Add transferring traded raidmons, and that’s up to 10 XL candies per single raidmon. Not to mention the normal candy, which should get you level 49 raidmons quite easily.

In 14 days, you could have a level 45 Palkia Origin even if you just start taking things seriously tomorrow. In one month, you can have both a level 45 Origin Dialga and a level 45 Origin Palkia—two out of six meaningful dragon attackers. There’s also a Mega Rayquaza event coming: if you prepare, you’ll have literally the best raidmon in the game and a free 1/6 serious raid attacker. Then comes Shadow Darkrai, which counters any Ghost or Dark-type mons easily. Finally, there’s the Shadow Groudon raid weekend, which destroys five different types.

As a result, you’ll have coverage for dragons (roughly 50% of legendaries), Ghost and Psychic types (about 25% of legendaries), and Electric, Fire, Rock, Steel, and Poison types… and you’ve only been playing for a single season.

It’s literally that easy. Just do your raids, catch good raid attackers, and trade them repeatedly. I don’t care if it’s with an alt or not—just get it done.

So again: We will keep babying you until December 2. Then it's sink or swim.

No, if nobody else is in your lobby after 50 minutes you get booted, even if you were next in line.

You approach a raid, you open the overlap of the app, you look at the raid, you press an overlay button, it automatically fills in some details about your lobby and you can fill in some other stuff like weather and team and also you could just host a completely different pokémon but don't do that because people will report you for it and you might lose the ability to host. Anyways, you wait in queue, queue length depends on how many hosts there are and how many people are looking to join the raid, if you're lucky it can be practically instant. Once it's your turn people will enter your lobby, they will send you friend invite, then you as the host accept it. Enter the raid, invite everyone (pokégenie will automatically put their names in your clipboard to make it easy for you to invite them). Once you've invited everyone go back to pokegenie to say that you have invited everyone. After that you actually do the raid. Then once the raid is done you can do a little review, if people in the lobby didn't send you friend request, or if they didn't join the raid, you can report them for it and they might get penalized. The players will also be rating you as a host, so do actually invite everyone who's in your lobby and not some randos or they'll report you for it. The most you host the more host level you get, making your more trustworthy and giving you better players.

Very rough. Those 3 are pretty much the only max mons you need 90% of the time. Metagross will work for you then. We don't have any good Dynamax Pokémon this month either, you might get some mileage out of an Alakazam, but Metagross works better as an all around Dynamax mon.

If you're just picking up the game, just catch stuff and try to get carried in raids, figuring out where people raid in your local area will be the toughest part (check the in game map if you want to do the actual official meet up). You're going to be pretty slow getting into dynamax, which is the only thing you can't really be carried in since it's limited to 4. For that, once you can get Blissey, Excadrill, and Metagross, you'll do ok in 90% of raids.

If it actually takes effort to farm or even get the ideal Pokémon for a showcase, most people won't even try, and of course I know this to be the case because I can see how many people do the showcases twice per week. Almost no one did the Kingambit showcase (including myself, but still) and almost every showcase in the suburbs had 10+ people for Rookidee, when the average is 2-4 per showcase, 5-8 during normal community days.

Hosting raids for randos and keeping them on your friend list would unironically help a lot with this, people will often send you gifts which often contain a bunch of pokeballs and a bit of stardust.
Also there's a few pokemon that randomly give way more dust than others for some reason, try to look for paras, shellder, staryu, meowth, sableye, and a few others I can't remember off the top of my head.
I've also noticed that stops with the gold lure from sending postcards to s/v seem to give a ton more items than normal if you have any of those, dunno if other types of lures increase it too or if its just those ones
