Quartz: Well, his partner Pokémon Hiver is Mesprit (though she disguises herself as a Gardevoir so as not to draw attention), so he reacts with some level of surprise, but it is lower than one would expect.
Gabriel: In the campaign he is in, the meeting of legendary Pokémon is so common that it is getting absurd. he even learned that he is the child of Xerneas (And was originally female). I don't think Gabriel can even disunite what is common and legendary at this point, so much has happened.
Eifnr: He'd be in awe and come before the Pokémon with as much respect as he can muster, but he'd be hoping for a battle
Darius: I am unsure. On one hand, he is on a war path and would likely want to know the best way to take them out if they became his enemies. on the other hand, they should be revered.
Seline: When she started her adventure, she didn't like how the god like Pokémon were butting into her business, but that has more or less smoothed out by now. Seline enjoys getting the occasional quest from them now. She sees them as something akin to her bosses now.

I forget if I ever mentioned this OC before in one of these threads, but I have a girl from Galar named Seline Undergrowth. She is from a royal bloodline, and her favorite catch phrase is "I am going to be Queen of Galar!"
Her starter is a Delphox named Edith, which she got imported into the country as a fennekin through Dexit. They have been best friends for as long as she can remember. She was overly sheltered growing up, forbidden from leaving the palace she grew up in, but one day, her father told her to go out and win the championship. She didn't need to be told twice; any excuse to get away from her father and that house.
her mother died from stress, and she blames her father for it. She has a phobia of being alone. Seline loves to battle and is fiercely competitive.
She and her traveling companions somehow managed to get wrapped up in a major conspiracy, and though it has been reached out to by every organization, and even the legendary.

Adult Seline. She wears mourning jewelry in remembrance of her mother. It is a timeskip, since her story is not finished, but this version has already achieved her goal of becoming Galar's Campaign. Whether to not that becomes canon will have to wait and see.

When we started out, her claims of being royalty were seen as her being quirky, but we found out that she is related to the Royal Executioner, Salem Undergrowth. The fact that she is the descendant of the man in charge of the witch hunts caused concern in all of her friends, but she was just happy to finally prove that she was indeed royalty. A bonus was that being the Royal Executioner meant that she became the hitman for the legendary pantheon.
As for her phobia, you are right. She never sleeps alone, and early in the campaign, she tried to make excuses as to why the group she traveled with should share a tent instead of having one per person. Her best friend Kai caught on eventually.

You could go read the "cute clumsy girl" or "dojikko" tv tropes page. It's not hard, klutzes are cute because their antics result in slapstick comedy and induce chain events of disasters, or otherwise evoke pity, have your OCs slip ups result in something funny but awful happening to themselves or others. Pairing it up with a cute appearance helps evoke a big "Awwww" by making your audience want to coddle or protect them. There will always be people who find it annoying, but that's not a matter of executing the trope correctly as much as it is some people not having their brain wired to care for (or lovingly bully) cute, helpless things.

Good morning, today I will be playing in my tabletop Pokémon Grey. I will be playing my character Eifnr as he and his friends figure out what they are going to be doing in the lands in the Entra Link, called Issyu.
Eifnr and his friends have mysterious Greek letters on their bodies; thus, they are called the "Signers," and we found out that the gijinkas here are willing to kill us so that the power gets passed down to them, or wish to turn us into gijinkas and have us on their side.
Because Eifnr and the others were sent to the PMD world without their memories, they did live a whole other life before they got their memories and humanity back; however, the inner Pokémon and their human minds never reconciled, so now we gotta deal with that or risk having our "inner Pokémon" take over.
The interesting thing, though, is that these are not our main OCs here. After today's session, we will only set up what they will be up to for the remainder of the campaign and move back to another cast. I have not played Quartz in months.

So far in tonight's session, the GM has been doing a lot of world-building to explain to us how "Pokémon Hybrids" have always been a part of the world and how it relates to the Re:Burst manga. According to the lore, during a great war in Unova's past, they utilized Burst Hearts to bolster their ranks with powerful warriors. However, the methods back then were prone to having failures, and some of the people never unbusted. While they were vets of war, integrating these half-Pokémon back into normal society was difficult. The first kings tried to do their best, but as the generations went on, public opinion shifted, and they were forced into the Entra Link.

Yeah, the session came to an end with the Signers standing in front of a giant sword. We were told to pull it out. One of us would become the new king of destiny, or they'd kill us all on the spot.
We tried one at a time, Eifnr and his rival got the most reaction. they tried it together, thinking they were Rin and Isagi or something like that. And when all the signers came together, the sword broke, and we all got a fragment of it. All the hybrids bowed, save for the "Dragon Zodiac" Scylla.
The Zodiacts are the leaders of Issyu and Eifnr, and the others are going to have to unite them somehow to end this war. Eifnr doesn't really like all of this, but he is willing to raise hell in order to get back to the human world and get back to gym battles and League stuff.

I feel that. My entire life has been under the weather, but I'm very slowly getting used to it. At the time of first writing this, I wasn't able to sleep for the past two days, first because of a nightmare and then because of a bedtime depressive episode, and food in general has been less interesting. Yesterday I also had an hours long depressive episode and had another nightmare. Alex despises religion. I'm not sure why yet, but maybe he will have a bad run-in with Draconids at some point. In addition, this honestly brings up the question of how religion would function within the contemporary Pokemon world. Very little indication of any kind of religious belief being present within the population given beyond the Draconids who worship Rayquaza and that random church in Sinnoh that’s honestly just a red herring. Even Arceus, who is considered to be the creator of the universe, has little mythological significance to the average person. I think that most places in the Pokemon world would be similar to post-Christian Scandinavia or the less religious parts of Japan, with social norms largely derived from secular humanism.
In my original writing, Anti-Abrahamic Religion is probably the only "additional" major theme which I don't also cover in fanfic. If anyone remembers my fantasy stuff, I had a draft for a "Cult/Church of Arceus" based on the state religion of Mondstadt which is based on the Catholic Church, and it's depicted as the stereotypical corrupt institution that people see it as when thinking of the medieval church. Arceus himself is also portrayed as careless, never even actually showing up in the storyline and said to only ever intervene when the World Is About To End. However, the existence of Clerics and Paladins implies that Arceus at least cares a little bit.

I feel this always remains open yet never tackled.
I mean, just think about it: back in gen 1, Pokémon were new species of animals that could fight and transform. In Gen 2, it turns out they were worshipped and respected, yet still a mystery (also, it turns out human religions still happened to exist in the original japanese text, the Digglet statue was a Buddah one)
In Gen 3 they were some sort of elder beings/giants that shaped the world as we know it.
4 jumped the shark, showing them as representations of time, space, creation Regigigas, and even God itself Arceus. And let's not get into the beta leak Regignosis and the actual canon that human and Pokémon could fuck and have children, or the bloody strange building in Hearthome It's supposed to be a CHRISTIAN church in JAPAN, until it was retconned as a temple showing the moment the Legends MC appeared in Hisui

Well, I sure do wish you well, anon. Thinking about religion in Pokémon, because and my table I have several games set in the same canon, we set up the Legendary Pokémon based on the Greek Pantheon. They are all sons and daughters of Arceus and Mew. They have a lot of in-fighting, and pride makes them unwilling to cooperate or ask for outside help. There is a Keldio in our Pokémon Grey who is a great example of how they act. He is justice personified, willing to do anything for the right cause, even before he knows all the facts. He agreed to a life-altering contract without reading the details of it just because it might help someone in need. All the other legendries are similar; they are almost insane in a way, unknowable to mortals.
In Galar Girls, the game with Seline and her friends in it, Giratina wanted to quit his job and has been grooming Seline's best friend Kai, so that she might one day take his mantle.

Honestly I think religion in pokemon is probably less chaotic than ours, with actual creatures that display their powers, probably the only ones that people doubt about their existence are ones like the creation trio. because for example you have in gen 7 the tapus, in gen 5 the swords of justice and so on. they are "legendary" but they look like they can be seen by everyone

Religion in Pokémon is interesring. I don't depict most legendaries as gods, but that doesn't mean people wouldn't revere them as such.

Legendaries (I'm wrapping Mythicals in this term as well) in my campaigns are pokemon with legends attached to them. Those legends are either believed enough to garner followings and devotees or not. Followers will adhere to rules and tenets established either by the legendary or the religions/philosphies they inspired.

For most people that's kind of where it ends, but because I run PTU games it's gotta have a little more pizzaz. So, if a legendary is powerful enough, I allow them to grant certain gifts and powers as a deal of sorts. The nature of this deal and what it takes to make that deal differs based on the legendary in question.

Example: a player wanted to bond with Virizion once. Virizion doesn't have a lot of power and influence, but I figured it would have enough to grant some minor boons to those it favored.

In order for the player to win Virizion's favor they had to battle it, but Legendaries are different and should be portrayed as such. The battle with Virizon was governed by three rules:

>1. No violence
>2. You must speak in rhyme
>3. You must use the same amount of words as Virizion each round of "combat"

Breaking a rule drained HP by a 6th. This led to rap battle that lasted 12 rounds until Virizion broke enough rules to lose.

In return, the player got to summon Virizon a number of times equal to how many 6ths of HP they had left (like 2 if I remember correctly)

I like the creativity of that encounter. In my campaign of Pokémon Grey, we found out that the whole Danganronpa-themed arc was all set in a domain made by a character who turned out to be a hybrid. Her domain trapped us inside a movie set. The odd rules and discrepancies could all be explained by the logic of movies. Scenes happened, and deaths on set were fake. When the domain broke, anything that happened would be undone as if we were only actors. We could have broken out of it at any time if we ever became aware of what was going on, which would "break the 4th wall," and her power would become moot.
Unfortunately for us, said character was not expecting Quartz and team Warpstar to be there, not Seline and her friend, or for her college to break into it because she was bored. So someone actually died for real because of this.

Maybe the GM was aware of this, but kept his mouth closed so as not to spoil the twist. I was actually close to sniffing out the movie director as the person, but before I could press the party decided "Nobody is gonna die! We are all friends here," and I turned off my suspicion for the feel-good attitude of everyone making it out alive. And we almost succeeded if not for a problem player. Oh, let me tell you about this.
We unlocked the secret ending to that arc. Team Warpstar was deemed too weak to be detected by a barrier that divided our world from the Distortion world, and so, with some help, we could open a gate there and walk right through, technically clearing the goal of having 5 people die. It was a big loophole, but we didn't know if we'd be able to make it back alive after this. So we said goodbye to everyone we loved and gave our Pokémon away to people we trusted, and then we boldly went. All but one, who said he didn't want to die. With four out of the five required deaths counted for everyone looked towards this man and really let him have it. His Pokémon even had it in for him after that. Needless to say he didn't last long. His own Pokémon poisoned him, but the Dragon Zodiac killed him first when a stray Draco meteor she launched hit him in the gut.

My other OCs on this thread are Seline and Eifnr, so I have already posted a good bit. The reason for having a theory on my own OCs is due to them being part of a tabletop series. I give the GMs permission to add onto my characters' backstories. Though one took it further than others. Gabriel found out he wasn't even a human or male. He was the daughter of X, a second Xerneas. Quartz just found out that he has a twin brother who died, and he forgot about him because of something that happened in the past. Whatever traumatic event happened, I am looking forward to seeing. Also, his brother is alive in the current world line; we changed world lines halfway through the campaign, which is pretty cool. Though now Quartz is the one who died, he found out from Giratina that one of them is always fated to die.

TQ: Within my setting, Mythical Pokemon are the ones with the most presence beyond the borders of Japan. Most characters in the immediate story/setting (American prison planet) are scum and would try to steal and sell them off or vivisect them for science. Most "fateful encounters" involving the mythical choosing the trainer rather than the other way around.

Let's see what I can remember:
Mew was discovered in South America centuries after the first Pokemon appeared in the Kanto region of Japan in the late 18th century. The creation of Dittos from Mew DNA helped kickstart the various bloodlines of human clones. Many people are Pokemon without even realizing it, but that's practically a technical assessment rather than phenological. No one is sure what happened to Mew afterwards. Pure Mew samples or the subsequent Ditto cells are the equivalent of Henrietta Lack cells in biopokengineering. I have no clue who Mew would choose other than someone who says "I won't gut you."

After 1945, the Victini population never stopped growing. Here's Dan and Garcian's Landlord: Little Boy and Fat Man. I decided to give him a Victini just today because he's another extremely funny reason why they don't dare cross him.

The only Legendary I have who works as an actual legend is Mewtwo, who immediately pulled a Dr. Manhattan after Giovanni and fucked off into outer space during the Cold War, which was infinitely more fucked than reality. YOU SEE ME NOW, A VETERAN OF A THOUSAND PSYCHIC WARS. Around his planet is a thick layer of orbital wreckage and the spaceborne ghosts of dead travellers who stumbled onto his planet and were instantly killed in retaliation. Whether he gave them warning to fuck off or not is known only to him. He also lives in a giant badass castle of course.

It is known that all of the mythical and legendary pokemon would instantly lose to the most powerful force in the world: American censorship committees. Ha ha.

Here's my OC, Kendall. She's a 19 year old homeless girl that lives in Unova.

Also, being derived from Nazi science experiments for the perfect Aryan Ubermon and Unit 731's torture for the military's shits and giggles, Mewtwo has some of that neurotic Germoid behavior as well as Imperial Japan disdain for "lesser species." He's not very nice and really dour, so it's best for everyone that he plays Minecraft/Factorio on a hidden empty planet.

Gen 1 and 2 legends, I can get as local legends. Gen 3, I admit I haven't thought the weather trio out too well. Gen 4+ metaphysical legendaries are off the table.

Like if the gen 3 plot happened 10 years earlier it would be about magma and aqua using Groudon and Kyogre's power indirectly to power up some weather machine to cause ecological damage, instead of the environment magically changing all over Hoenn the moment they get the legendary they want.
Basically, the aesthetics of the setting and its technology took a backseat to glorifying the box legendary, and the narratives are all centered around the box legendaries now. So that makes the human hand feel weaker in these games

I'd imagine in Unova there are slums full of homeless vagrants. Illegal trash leagues are set up at a low shoestring budget with most of the trainers fighting with pathetically weak Pokémon, since they can't afford any better. There are some trainers with strong Pokémon, like Kendall's Armarogue, but they are rare outliers obtained via happy accidents.

Hello again.
It's been about a month since I dropped the final "teaser" so I may as well explain my silence and things going forward.

Unfortunately, I will not be continuing with this new story and set of characters due to a few reasons.

The story would have been set in the real world, taking place online in a Pokémon TCG MMO sort of game. The story itself would be heavily inspired by the webcomic Digimon Liberator, and would have revolved around a small group of players who once played the card game together but drifted apart after college ended, banding together when a group of malicious hackers threatened the entire MMO. Hali and Midori were to return as Game Admins, mostly stripped of their privileges but still able to aid the new players in their journey across the server to locate the leader of the hacker group.
Along the way, the players would have gone through personal growth and built up new decks via defeating the hackers who challenge them to battle.

The reason I am not going through with this is due to a few reasons.
The first (and foremost) reason is that I do not feel that this place has nearly enough appeal or welcoming vibe as it used to after the April Incident. Especially as many of us original posters left during that time.

The second is that I am busy attempting to salvage my own project as it is.

Third, I feel that I have well and truly fallen out of love with the Pokémon franchise I once grew up with. Not even the Pokémon TCG is fun to me anymore, and I think it's high time I moved on to a franchise that respects it's fanbase more.

I understand if this disappoints what little of you are left, but you know where to find me if you want to see more of Grym and Circe (who have recently gained an additional sister in my project). And if not, I'm sure there are a couple people here who know where to point you to.

Hi, Coloris Guy. We didn't really talk while you were active, but I always thought you were a good contributor who helped the thread be what it was its heyday, especially with the TCG packs.

I'm sorry to hear about those things. I can relate a lot. For me, this thread was my lifeline back into the franchise and it's been a major part of my life since I joined only about a week and a half after my birthday. It all happened very quickly and I frankly don't even remember how I found the board or thread, or what persuaded me to join. Likewise, my enjoyment of the franchise has also dwindled alongside the activity of the thread after April Fools Day and the subsequent 4chan shutdown. You should know that most original posters are still here, (barring Archivist, his editor, Zatch (according to you) and of course Em*ly), just that they were already not too active and are now even less active given that the most active posters are also less active now. Regardless, while I think your story is very interesting, and certainly worth continuing with, I'm not going to try to convince you to continue it or even to just drop by every now and then if your heart's just not in the place to do so (although either of those things would be nice). I dearly miss what this thread and Pokemon as a whole used to be, doubly so now that I am burdened with the knowledge that things will never be as they were ever again, and I don't blame you for your point of view. Unfortunately, we're probably never going to move on from that, but at least we have the memories from the good times.

Here is an actual AI generation I made of an alternate version of Alex, if you look at certain fine details you can see what I mean regarding the poor color blending of AI. The hair might also be sitting a bit too high upon the skull (or not), or maybe the forehead is a bit big, I'm not really sure cause I don't know anatomy.

AI users have been a part of this thread since the very beginning, from Vega who was the first person to make a character interview prompt over a year ago to Luke who has a ten-chapter long AU of Pokemon Platinum and David who is our 24/7 insurance policy against our threads being archived. Only one person who used AI had to actually be booted from the thread and his frequent usage of AI had nothing to do with it, he was just a universally disliked jackass (and even he posted some writing, even if it was not very good). I've been here since the thread's founding, and I rarely use AI because I just do not find the results to be up to my specifications. This image right here is one of two AI generations I've ever posted. I've been a consistent contributor to the thread since its beginning

No established user who produces content for these threads has ever complained about AI. We are mostly “dead” in comparison to how things used to be where we would hit bump limit once or twice a week. Now we are only a little bit more active than the vpcai thread which lasts about the same amount of time as our threads, except that nowadays their stuff will regularly fail to reach bump limit. Like I mentioned before, I had thoughts about wanting to shut down the thread but it seems like even though it is very slow everyone still wants to continue, most people are still here, just much less active. But we can still certainly feel the effects of what happened in April, we went from being one of the most active generals to one of the least active ones, and we are never getting that back. Even the fanfic thread usually lasts under two weeks. Sometimes I think about posting there asking questions about what they do there just so that I can feel like inhabiting an active environment again. (not posting my actual characters though).

I can’t offer specific advice without seeing your OC, but a common criticism by tourists is that our characters "don't look like Pokemon characters", but in my opinion that's something you shouldn't worry about too much because Pokemon does not have a very consistent design philosophy. Hoenn’s first champion was just a guy in a suit, Hoenn’s second champion is a guy showing his pelvic bones.
Unless your design is EXTREMELY outlandish like an overweight loli with oversized everything and a Final Fantasy Sword, you should be good. Generally speaking, you won’t have to ask yourself “is this too outlandish”, though if you do ask yourself that then you may wish to change your design a bit. But just from the Unovan gym leaders, you have a stereotypical Texan, an icy sensei, a runway model with a very particular taste in fashion, a baggy punk rocker, and a girl who is showing too much skin. And within that group there are also just normal guys like Cheren and Burgh. The only thing that I can say is that you shouldn’t make an overly elaborate character design. For example, if you look at the champion designs of the BW2 protags from Master Sex they are surprisingly simple designs that mostly rely on big shapes that do not have very complex patterns (and this goes for most “complex” designs in Pokemon).
Now, the few design principles that Pokemon has go out of the window if you’re doing an AU. I have both a fantasy and cyberpunk AU for my character and I can certainly tell you that the fantasy design would absolutely not work for normal Pokemon, cyberpunk is a bit more debatable because while both of its source materials would definitely not be fitting for Pokemon (like with the source material of his fantasy outfit) the actual design has been simplified a bit.
