this doesn't happen. not only do they not care about this; even if they did they could just steal the designs and the fans would have no recourse. copyright laws exist to protect the IP of large companies, not individuals, and the large company in question can easily defend itself by saying the fans uploading fake pokémon designs are infringing on their IP by calling their designs pokémon.
they'll never even have to do this though, because they have plausible deniability that they've ever seen whatever fakémon people would say they're ripping off, which is basically impossible to prove one way or the other. and honestly in all likelihood they ACTUALLY HAVEN'T seen those designs, because thousands of fakémon are posted to the internet literally every day. this entire line of reasoning is complete nonsense, total schizo shit no matter how you look at it. no idea why it gets parroted so much here.

Aside from dropping the average IQ of the Pokémon fandom by an entire Standard Deviation, and flooding the fandom with shitposting secondaries, there were notes about a flying type Eeveelution being rejected for resembling a fan design too much. Of course there’s no other context given with thw note and it was likely translated with AI (known to be unreliable) so it could have meant something more along the lines “the design looks like something a fan would make and is too generic”.
