N is shockingly good at AOE sync nukes when fully invested. He got me through most of the high floors in the Fire tower, and if you pair him with Champion Leaf or Arc Suit Silver, he'll just vaporize teams with 300k+ per opponent every sync.
Steven was fine enough when he was released, but even back then, "fine enough" for a Master Fair made him relatively disappointing, especially with his awful base stats. They've tried to fix him with an EX role and some grid updates that makes him something of a combined strike/tech/sprint/field, and you can get some utility out of that. I've seen that someone managed to beat floor 30 of the Flying tower with him on the team, so he's not hopeless, but he's extremely reliant on other characters buffing him since it would take so long to do it on his own (X Attack x3, Draco Meteor x3, Dragon Ascent x6, Trainer Move x2 = five syncs in before he maxes himself)
Lillie was the best Ghost strike at the time, piercing damage was still new, but she fell off as it became more common and she cost too much gauge. They've fixed that by having her get free moves next every time she attacks (as well as filling the gauge after sync, which still hits hard as strike+tech), and she greatly benefits from being with Champion Selene who can set up Ghost Zone, and Lillie will no longer cannibalize the gauge while Selene does. They still need a good support between the two of them.

Some characters, especially the older they get, won't be meta or game breaking because of power creep. Sygna Suit Steven & Deoxys is a Poké Fair while Steven (Anniversary 2021) & Rayquaza is a Master Fair, yet Deoxys completely outshined it. Rayquaza has some unique utility by now being able to create a Flying Zone, and a fully invested one actually has some use, but don't go expecting it to ever be comparable to Arc Suit Cynthia & Garchomp.

I have SS Morty at level 200, maximum superawakening, EX role, 6EX, 70/60 grid, you name it, but the fact of the matter is that even if his bulk is only slightly below AS Steven & Mega Metagross, he cannot buff Attack or Sp. Atk above a +2 no matter how you grid him. Instead, he's built around having ridiculous sun support.

What's the deal with grinding event points
The 30 stamina ultra hard battle is once a day so I do that and then autocomplete as many of the 20 stamina very hard battles as possible?

The event runs for over a month and even with the full bonus pairs it takes 10 days or so to get the 30k ticket, don't worry about it.

If you were to do the daily battle with the three 1.6x multipliers, you'd get 22,400 points for 1200 stamina. The six unlocked battles would get you 540 points for 120 stamina. Then you'd get the remaining 7040 points through the standard battles.

Optimally

It's not like there's anything else to use stamina on anyway, and the way to get the most stamina is to always have it be charging at any given time, so we're inevitably going to hit the point where we hit 30k points but have nothing but training areas to spend stamina on.

TeraRed is probably going to be meta-level for a while, right? Part of me is debating going for it as I haven't had a really meta pair in years.

One time for each region (minus Galar which doesn't have a Champion Stadium). When they first added it, you had to make your teams across two weeks cover all 18 types. I remember doing 15 types the first week and 3 types with the remaining 12 being whatever on the second. The game's at the point where basic Champion Stadium is really, really easy, but that's what 5 years of powercreep will do. They cycle through regions every four weeks.

The villain arc is alright for its first half and it's completely uninteresting for the second half. Originally, it went Kanto > Sinnoh > Johto > Hoenn > Unova... because BDSP had just come out, so Sinnoh got prioritized. This was also when Cynthia & Giratina dropped which was cross-media foreshadowing for Volo at the end of PLA. Giovanni appearing at the end of the Sinnoh story and contemplating about allies is what leads to the Johto villain arc with the Rocket admins.

Hoenn is okay, I mostly liked seeing Maxie and Archie resolve things as character development that carries forward.
Unova is eh, the Unova Legendary Event was far better, and the Unova Arc Suit story was too
Kalos is an actual waste of time where the drama relies on whether or not anything happened (spoilers: it didn't)
I hardly remember Alola, something about disgruntled Aether Foundation employees being evil and some Faba jokes.
Galar is okay, the most interesting aspect is that the characters actually seem to observe that they're from alternate universes from one another for the first time, but they don't go far with it.
School shooter Paulo is kind of cliche, whatever. Felt totally pointless in the end, Giovanni just decides he'll continue scheming. PML ending with the "We're going to hold ANOTHER tournament!" was also lame, obviously nobody playing cared because they never went through with it. Team Break was also a letdown, felt very low effort.

There aren't a lot of teams that can beat floor 30 without being heavily optimized. Some late floors are literally impossible without having a specific character. You can't beat the final non-physical floor of the Ground tower without Rika.

I finally beat every ultimate battle. Even at 1/5 Anni Gloria is such a useful support. Having to pity her feels worth it.

Usually most people (for on typing that is) go for hp buffs, increased damage to supports, special/physical attack shields and power reduction (depending on what your main attack does), reduced gauge, reduced trainer move uses, and things like no status effects

Another option is going max def and hp buffs and stalling with bad poison. Janine is great for that, as she can self-heal, evade, and debuff all opponents.

Gradual healing is a good option for ones that you are just trying to hit as hard and quick as possible. You'd avoid hp and def buffs and buff their offenses instead. Power Up On Hit is also useful here, but it can quickly snowball you if you don't have enough power.

Turn off field effects if not using them. Only use them when they are necessary (some have a ton of buffs with weather that need cleared) or they can multiplier you to hit hard enough.

I generally have my four defaults as

>poison
And I always tweak them a bit to match what I have and what I'm facing.

Also also, notice that you can turn up the damage for Strike / Tech / Support. Always do that for roles not on your team. Field and Sprint do not have that, so including them is like them being free. EX Roles do not count for this (Strike EX roll will not take more damage when Strike Pairs x3 Damage is turned on)

I use this as my baseline. My strat is kill them before they kill you.
I only do minor changes depending on my team.

Side notes :
- Anni Irida start at 11 and Red start at 8. Unlike last year the anni pairs are very close (last year it was Steven at 20,Cynthia at 9 and Lance at 4).
-The normal BP freebies are at 2/1 like last year however Thorton and Buzzwole did worse than Morgan and Raikou (1/0 vs 7/1). Same for the Paldean Starters against Lillie (2/2/1 vs 15) and Mix Barry against Leaf (0 vs 1)
-I am not talking about all the new 6EX because they are a lot of them. But I also want to say that I used the occasion to add/remove some 6EX pairs with some pairs that are almost always here.

Remember, do bad poison cheesing on round 2, that's when he'll really suffer. Consider waiting on using Irida for the final battle with Gloria where you can set bad poison cheese again. Just max out opponent bulk (defenses, HP) and minimize your damage.
You have Kieran who might be able to beat Lorelei without Juliana. Consider round 4 for infinite Fighting Zone and sun
Red for Lance, but you'd want to be very careful with a Dragon Zone unless you have a good support since Lance can use it to his advantage. If you don't need Gloria for the final battle, she might make a better support here.
Agatha you can kind of unga bunga with Arc Cynthia, you just need a support.

Yeah, but if he has two opportunities for poison cheese and one of those is the final battle, he should consider saving great supports for other stages, even if they would be on-type. If your characters are good enough to do off-type consistently and you don't have great type coverage for every type (ie. he's really lacking in Ghost and isn't going to have a pure Ghost team that can do 3000 points), you should save your best off-type pairs for the ones you struggle with most.

Elesa will be your tank and gives sync accelration
Iono gives EX electric terrain

Slightly less impossible to be surprised with one of the limited banners you skipped or missed. But like you said basically totally useless if you care about who you get. Basically the only units you will never be surprised by are 1% banner units. Even the oldest shittiest outdated ones.

The anniversary itself is pretty underwhelming too. The thing is no one was excited about the actual anniversary pairs before people found out about the potential new banner type. And even now the actual gameplay is pretty lame stories no one has anything to say about and the skip ticket grind. I just don't see what some new player drawn to this game from Kieran or whoever without any sunken cost would feel like sticking around for. Maybe they should have started with Volo boogaloo or something.

To me, this anniversary feels particularly low effort after an insanely predatory year. EX Master Fairs are genuinely shocking to me because they are the ONLY new fair type that aren't more anti-consumer or a trade-off. Each year it gets worse, from Arc Fairs reselling you the same characters and starting to run in ADDITION to Master Fairs while having a steeper spark rate and now repeating types, superawakening not being feasible for non-whales no matter how dedicated they are, Academy performance being tied to RNG and having the promoted characters, Mix scouts being actual paid-only characters, Variety scouts having almost no effort 90% of the time, 5* general characters being so low priority that they don't get "unique" sync move animations anymore unless they're from Alola (which are shared between them, and not even with Ryuki based on a technicality) and only feel compelled to release them during anniversaries that are already squeezing you dry, etc.

I'm so tired of the sheer volume of extremely low effort "alts" that reuse a character model, voice lines, and have a generic syncs. Lodge pairs, Damage Challenge, Battle Points vouchers, a number of event freebies, mix scouts, and variety scouts are so tiring, but anything more is too premium.

This is the first time a non arc suit alt recycles the same actual Pokémon as in the Pokémon itself and not the species on the same trainer again. That's the same Charizard from his sygna suit. Of course they justify it with the Tera gimmick but I'm not sure the Tera gimmick was met with anything but lukewarm oh wow it took them this long to add it. And I don't think people really understand the implications of the mechanic.

I don't even think EX master fair is replacing normal master fair banners. Seemingly arc suit banners will be the same. It's probably just a temporary relief type thing for anniversaries. I don't see why they'll suddenly stop spamming the usual 1% banners when they spent literally the whole year releasing at least one a month. They had no problem releasing Kieran as a normal cancer master fair banner days before releasing the "generous" banner type. It'll probably be business as usual later.

I think the EX banner feels underwhelming because I would rather they just overhauled the existing banners and just have old limited added to specific pool types. Just do away with the rerun cancer entirely. There's literally zero reason to roll on a dedicated Archie and Maxie banner unless you really like them or want the jukebox CD. Not too long ago they reran variety Team Skull and variety Factory Heads and no one is retarded enough to roll that so it's a waste to even bother rerunning those. I'd be fine even if they only updated pools on anniversaries to push FOMO sales. EX banners only feel like a band aid that only makes the Pokefair spam slightly less cancerous. Genuinely I don't think people would have been opposed to arc banners increasing the spark threshold if they included other old limited types. All those other existing banners you brought up still suck ass.

More on Tera I don't think it's really sunk in for people that the actual Pokémon choice doesn't even pretend to matter anymore. Irida's Typhlosion doesn't remotely resemble what anything a Typhlosion does. Tera blast is a blank slate buddy move DeNA can make do anything. Typhlosion doesn't learn any poison moves at all so they forced hyper beam into one like they do all the time. Without them adding Hex for the sake of it you could replace her Typhlosion with any Pokémon that learns hyper beam. Hex doesn't matter either since it's a buddy move they could swap out for any other buddy move that will do the same thing. Buddy moves are only a suggestion and do whatever the devs want. The Pokémon choice in a Tera unit is only merely a suggestion. The moveset doesn't need any basis anymore. Virtually every Pokémon learns Tera Blast and Hyper Beam or Giga Impact.

Tera makes Pokémon choice irrelevant. Before, something like Incineroar would be Fire or Dark, and its moveset would be based around what those types tend to gravitate towards. Much like Grass-type Pokémon tend to benefit from sun support in addition to Grassy Terrain, you can get an idea for how well a Pokémon will do based on what its type is. New Fire-type? Well you have so many ways to get Fire rebuff, so many options for sun support. But let's say they release Ligma Balls Misty & Blastoise (Tera Type: Fire). It doesn't matter that it's Blastoise, it's going to play like something unlike Blastoise. It's going to burn, set sun or EX sun, Fire damage field, Fire Spin, Fire rebuff. It feels lazy, like the Pokémon doesn't matter, and when so many characters in this series are tied to a specific type or specific set of Pokémon, it gives them a niche.

There are good uses of alternative typing, like Sygna Suit Roxie & Toxtricity being Electric instead of Poison. It's a Pokémon that fits her extremely well thematically, and it has strong Poison support on top of its Electric type. You could do Roxie and a Fire-type Salazzle and it's a similar deal. Roxie and an Ice-type Muk is just retarded. Use an actual Ice-type Trainer in that case, give Glacia or Pryce something. This game is for people who like the human characters of Pokémon. Morty & Ho-Oh works because that was tied to him in the games, and people want to see the story that makes it happen. People don't want Roxie and her Tera Ice Muk or Tera Poison Lapras #4. There needs to be lines they don't cross.

I don't think anyone here truly loves it, but sometimes they'll release cool shit like Silver with a Ho-Oh and powered up by Arceus having a showdown with Ethan with a Lugia also powered up by Arceus. But even that had negative baggage among players for a number of reasons.

Most people will say no. If you don't have severe sunken cost there's pretty much no good justification for sticking around. You haven't put any money or time into it so you lose nothing from quitting. Like any mobile game the day to day between actual substantial updates is just menial busywork. If you're there to collect it's pretty much impossible even now.

Silver's stories are the actual best part of the game. His Legendary Event, Ghetsis' Legendary Event, the Johto Villain Arc, and his Arceus Arc chapter are already freely available at any time already. The N Arceus Arc chapter was good, but that's also available. So all the remaining good choices just happen to be Silver stories because they have an actual narrative and long term development.

>Giovanni allies with and betrays Ghetsis and encounters Silver whose appearance stops him from pursuing N and Ghetsis

They are pretty generic supports for Region/Type with some niche utility, ie Roxie is pretty useful for the current HSE because she powers up poison moves and has stagger in the grid.
Not sure where they go from here now that we have all regions covered. Either just cycle back to Scout A or do another round to cover all the types...

They're all above average - good, with the variation being dependant on how good their main TM is and how good the sync grid compliments them.

They all have:
> Spammable attack
> Defensive Circle
> Team wide buff TM
> Potion/Mini Potion
> Field EXR

They're pretty solid and will hold the position of type wide support until something like a poke/masterfair support of that type rolls in.
