Nemona is pretty impressive at #6, it's not really power creep with her since four of her mons are gen 7 or earlier and her pokemon base stats aren't that high, also no items.

Anabel in the top half with just three mons and gen 3 pre-physical/special split movesets. Dragon Claw on Latios and Shadow Ball on Snorlax, yikes.

And the Zero Lab theme connects to the battle between Raidons, which uses the south province theme because it's where your adventure with them began, and is later used to the end with your friends coming back home. Also Area Zero theme is also used for Kitakami's crystal pool, and then one of the Kitakami siblings gets to catch Terapagos and battle with him before it goes full nuclear for its full theme

The tournament isn't allowed to use gimmicks so gen my lose by default. It makes perfect sense for gen 4 and 5 to place second and third, those are the gens that pushed powercreep the most without gimmicks and they have full teams with items thanks to PWT
