Whoever greenlit this pig to be in anything but the dexcut list needs to be fired.

How you replace Typhlosion (who wasn't ever shilled and organically became Johto's 5th most popular) with such a pathetic Pokémon? They should have just brought in Torchic again, at least 85% of the players wouldn't be choosing Totodile. Instead we get a pig that was pity chosen to get a mega evolution that no one will ever see because no one will pick him or Chikorita.

This is for almost every starter in games without two rivals. The only exceptions I can remember of the top of my head are Kanto’s starters in yellow, Johto’s (trainer cal uses all three), the turtwig, infernape, in Sinnoh.

I don't give a shit which starters NPC's graviate toward, so from my perspective both options are the same. Hell, Emboar's one of the few starters tha was neglected as Typhlosion making it an objectivly better choice than Blaziken who already got a mega
