Jesus Christ i thought sylveon was a pretty big power creep that at least added consistency to certain Stage 2 decks, but goddamn Suicune has made me bail on this game one week into the new meta. Like compare:
Sylveon:

Your points about not running two Sylveon are very valid, my thought process was that you do not want to ever play both Sylveon however you always want to draw ONE every game for the extra draw power. But including 2 also means there are times you will brick with two and clog your bench into suicune

Magby helps you go faster with energy accel but then you give up a prize. So if you build up a Flareon ex, it's easy to ko because you had to use combust to get to three fast.

Maybe the ideal is the build up gaFlareon and then try to have the point map be Magby, gaFlareon, Flareon ex? That way Flareon ex can power itself up on the bench while gaFlareon fights

How do you play the flareon deck? I never know when to lead with eevee ex or normal eevee, when to evolve, when to use the baby flareon or the ex, or how to not auto lose going first. This shit is so confusing, it doesnt feel like it has good options unless magby leads.

if you try to play anything but balls-to-the-wall aggro, you'll lose. don't think "magby costs me a point so if i lose flareon it's over" think "i can KO his suicune turn 5 and there's nothing he can do to respond to that so i win"
you swing turn 4/5 with flareon ex and KO their lead, then it's hard for them to field enough energy to threaten a KO back before flareon ex closes out the game. if they stall and ramp the bench while leaving the active with no energy, then build baby flareon and send it out first.
always try to ramp and evolve the ex eevee over the non-ex, because you can safely sack the non-ex if you're behind the curve to stall another turn, like if you went first and magby went down turn 2 to eevee ex or something. even if you're down 2 points turn 5, if you can play flareon ex you can still come back and win.
and sometimes you will just eat shit and lose because you bricked and didn't draw any copies of eevee or the bottom 4 cards in your deck are all flareon. but that's any deck.

It's admittedly a bit hard to understand at first, takers a few tries to realize that you have a lot of options for many scenarios. Magby start is of course ideal but it's not insta-loss by any means if you start with Eevee.

Baby Eevee if you have a really shit first hand. EX Eevee if you can take out their baby opener (or if you want to bruise Suicune a little so Flareon doesn't need to combo for a kill). It plays a bit close to the limit because the feel of the deck is definitely riding on the edge of your energies. You want to be burning your energies when you can. Ideal scenario is getting baby Flareon up to get a kill or two and then Flareon EX gets energies from the discard pile to clean shop.

it's primarily electric decks that have space for a colorless ex like that since they generate and recycle energy very efficiently, and said decks already have oricorio to stop the cards you mentioned dead.
plus, if you're ramping it in any way (it's colorless, you'd be retarded not to) you're likely to have the energy to attack before they have the energy needed to KO them. if you're attacking turn 4 or 5, darkrai's not going to have three energy, donphan's not going to have three energy, etc.

the main thing is just that it has more HP than silvally (very relevant for the silvally matchup because it doesn't die to silvally+gio) and it lacks a weakness.
the energy requirement is mostly a non-factor in a proper deck since babies exist, i mainly played around with it in darkrai/pichu and since you run mono-dark energy but pichu generates electric it's trivial to get altaria online.
as it stands it's still not really a replacement for silvally because gladion is just stupid, but if they ever put out dragon support it's easy to see it overtaking silvally in certain decks.

Babies add consistency for multicolored decks. I've seen a good Garchomp/Alteria deck that got me by surprise. I'd imagine it's not tiptop tier consistency but it can hold its own ground.

Maybe it's best to say Alteria has potential. Currently not as reliable but it looks like they are trying to balance dragon gradually as a type, and I can see Alteria being a key support to splash into any Dragon build that breaks out.

it's very simple, you set up jumpluff as quickly as possible while using pawmot line as a meat shield. once pawmot is online it has zero retreat and built-in rocky helmet so you

Why is there no counter to indirect damage in pokemon pocket? They’ve let greninja and darkrai get away with everything, those cards ping you and theres 0 counterplay. I hate how draw power/energy generation is so integral to decks. Theres alot of old combos that SHOULD be good like weavile/darkrai or meowscarada, but they just aren’t because they dont have babies to generate their type of energy or draw engines. You don’t draw your stage 1 or other necessary cards immediately? Its too late, your opponent has just generated a billion energy with babies or drew 50 cards with suicune or sylveon. It sucks because those decks draw so much that they can live with red card or mars and fight past it. A normal deck is fucked

I use grass energy, if I go turn 1 I always lead with Cherubi and a tool. Prioritize energy on Swirlix and Slurpuff. It's fairly flexible but low HP all around is the biggest weakness.
