Any ROMhacks that do this gen 3 map? Looking for recommendations. I'm looking for something simple.

The closest thing I've seen so far is kittypboxx's GBAXG with the map randomizer off, which is FireRed, CrystalDust, and Emerald. My only issue with this is there are still some pokemon that cannot be encountered, and that the only way to switch regions is via the menu. So ferry services need to be added to go to Hoenn. CrystalDust has the door to Kanto blocked, and if you walk through walls to get to the door it spits you out in a "random" (consistent) Johto guard house. FireRed doesn't have a door to Johto of course. Also, Mt. Silver doesn't exist in CrystalDust. This spoiler is an end-game and post-game spoiler for the GBAXG game. Trainer Red replaces Steven in Emerald in version 2 (unsure of the exact version number,) Steven replaces Wallace as Champion as he was in Ruby/Sapphire.

While it is possible to use Arbitrary Code Execution now to gain access to those events in all gen 3 games, I'd rather not have to use glitches for Mew, Deoxys, the other Lati@s etc.

Not sure if CrystalDust has a Celebi event, so I'd want one added as copy/pasted from Crystal with an introduction to the event which makes sense. (Probably post-game.) and Jirachi would have to be figured out so the bonus disc isn't needed. Entei and Raikou both become roamers instead of being based on your starter choice seeing how Suicune is a Crystal thing. I don't care if the bad DVs are fixed or not. Getting a 2nd starter choice could be a post-game thing.

Johto

Likewise, more ways to get Eevee are needed so you can get all 5. Either add a day/night cycle to all regions or keep it the same where you can only evolve into Espeon and Umbreon when in Johto and Hoenn, seeing how it wasn't possible in FireRed.

People are already doing that and bigger. This project is adding additions to existing routes on top of already having all 3 regions and there is talk about adding gen 4 as well. They even reworked the minimap to show everything. (This image isn't just an image, but there is an in-game video I've seen of the map from the Pokenav.) Importing FRLG map into Emerald is possible, the hard work is adding extra onto the routes and connectors, but even that isn't really that hard and this hack adds so much more than that.

Mini was cute. There is absolutely some argument to less is more. Main reason why I'm not trying to find an all gens hack. 3 regions was the dream for me. Like I said, Kittypboxx's GBAXG comes so very close to what I'm looking for if it just could switch regions without relying on a menu. However, if you think about it, Fly is basically the same thing. The menu, when activated just warps you to whatever city you chose when you go through a door.

There are four ways to play a multi-region thing.
1. Treat it like Ash did in the anime and box your old team when you switch regions so you aren't overleveled.
2. Bounce between regions, switching region a lot in order to stay in the gym level curve.
3. Don't worry about overleveling and crush everything with an overleveled team.
4. Mod the teams in later regions to be higher level or rely on a level matching mechanic like Red++ and other open world hacks handle it. I'm personally not a fan of enemy teams always level matching, but it does change how you play the game by quite a bit because you have to make sure your team stays even with your ace.

I don’t expect people to believe me on this, but I tested for this and honestly the dev didn’t see an issue with it. They’re a regular programmer and did this as a sort break inbetween work so they didn’t understand like rom hacking etiquette (gives patches, no roms). They kind of expect Nintendo to take it down and are content with it even tho there’s safer ways of releasing it. To their credit, it is a guaranteed way of making sure it works out of the box (no bad roms or wrong roms) which I think they cared more about (they stressed a lot about level curve and player feedback when testing)
