What a strange case of shilling these two were

Why lock them behind having a specific legendary pokemon, a specific not gen 5 legendary no less like unova's whole gimmick is no returning old Pokemon so why do they expect you to have a very specific celebi?

It was a weird decision and it probably had a negative effect on Zoroark 's popularity. Part of the reason Lucario got so popular is because it was so available to players.

BW2 fixed it by just giving you N's Zorua but I think the damage was done.

No Anon, Masuda thought of that and included a transfer system SPECIFICALLY for the HGSS events to make sure you could get Zoroark during the main game and works EXCLUSIVELY with those events. He also included an event for an item that was never unlocked because they never added the key to unlock the Snarl TM

God imagine if you needed that event mew for Lucario that things stocks would fucking plummet Mewtwo would probably come back for brawl and Lucario would be one of the poor bastards stuck in the pokeball item

Zoroark failing should have definitely been the wake up call Masuda needed to cull events going forward. Instead he still kept them around but used them for irrelevant shitmons nobody would care about as post-release content to keep people invested in the games while instead focusing on the starters being the shillmons going forward. I think Sakurai picking Greninja over Zoroark mind broke him to some extent, mostly as a straw that broke the camel's back because all of Gen V's Zoroark shilling actually backfired and made it an irrelevant shitmon. Especially given its gimmick would NEVER get the opportunity to be used properly in comp play due to team preview

Zoroark has exactly the same problem female Champions after Cynthia have where Game Freak will try to bank on the lightning in a bottle they got with Cynthia only to continuously flop each time with increasingly unimpressive results. Sinnoh is definitely the region with the most significant cultural impact after Kanto, but it's in so many subtle ways

They were made to fail so that Lucario-sama could transcend being a Gen 4 Shillmon and become one of the Top Dogs alongside Pikachu and Charizard (later joined by Eevee and Sylveon).

I think diantha is more attractive facially than even Cynthia but her battle was so bad...and people make fun of her lisa simpson hair lmao. She was also barely a part of the plot from what i remember.

BW2 iris was good yeah. Guess she didn't make much of an impact because she was only champion in bw2 and not bw1 the first impression game

I like Diantha as character but I don't like how underused she was in the games.
The few times we get to see her, she's acting as a foil and counter to Lysandre's philosophy - while Lysandre was disgusted with things progressively changing and weathirng, Diantha was accepting passage of time and was even bit excited with it. She was okay with getting older because that was giving her new role opportunities while Lysandre could not cope with his misaligned vision of eternal beauty existing just in his head.
