BW are not my favorites, but I respect the ambition they had and the effort that went into them. They pushed a lot of boundaries, had some low lows but some very high highs. Also, Chandelure is cool.

I remember the hype at the time. They were going really hard with promoting the story and drama, something they had never done for Pokémon before. CoroCoro always used to talk about new Pokémon and features and areas and mechanics, story was typically pretty secondary.

Anon, /vp/ was made around halfway through 2010 because Pokémon threads on /v/ were getting out of hand due to Black and White hype. People will bring up X and Y's hype season like it was a golden age, but few of them were here in 2010 when the games still had major regional gaps between releases and all major info dumps came from blurry CoroCoro pics taken from a 2005 Motorola.

I am about the finish these games for the first time. Just reached the final fight with N and I have to say absolutely loved the whole ride so far. The towns, music and characters are really memorable. Some of my absolute favorite Pokemon are in these games. Only downside so far really are the linear routes but even then the game looks so beautiful in every route that it doesn't really make me mad. Just something that is very noticable because the last game I played before Black is Platinum.
