As painful as it is for me to say this given how much I love it, Sceptile has sadly fared far worse, at least Meganium and Serperior have things going for them in spite of being heavily outclassed, Sceptile's movepool is extremely awkward, it's a pure Grass type, which is a horrible offensive type, it's Mega becoming Grass/Dragon ironically makes it far worse because it desperately needed a good secondary STAB, Dragon is borderline useless in the middle of the Fairy generation and with so many bonkers Steel types hanging around in high play anyway.
It's fast but it can't do anything, not even a move as broken as Shed Tail was enough to help it since the other two Pokemon that get it are far better at using it. To make things even more painful, I noticed a while back that Meowscarada's stats are literally just Sceptile's, but with the offenses switched, with stats being optimized a bit better, a better movepool, even a better selection of special moves in spite of it being a physical attacker and 3 extra speed to REALLY drive it in that Gamefreak fucking hates Sceptile, and of course Meowscarada gets a broken ability in Protean when Sceptile gets the useless Unburden and the even more paradoxically retarded Lighting Rod when it Mega Evolves, ya know, the quad Electric resistant Pokemon gets an Electric immunity ability and it's way faster than most Pokemon that can spam Electric moves to boost it's special attack in doubles anyhow. Being someone who loves Sceptile is pain.

I always liked Chesnaught in spite of loving Phox way more, the two pair up really well.
