Today my boss was going to throw out our old display mug that we've had since forever. I've used this mug as a demo to sell other mugs, and with the line discontinued and the lid partially broken we were supposed to toss it. So I took it home instead, the liquid seal still works, and the attached bluetooth speaker still connects, charges, and outputs sound. So I was the one that wound up with that mug in the end after all.

Along the way home I stopped off at a Gamestop and picked up a code receipt. No other Gamestop in the area had one but that one.

Yesterday marked a month since I've been 100% sober and I feel much better in myself as a result. Gonna spend today cooking a load of good food which I've not felt like doing for a while.

I bake as a hobby and since it's October I made pumpkin cupcakes and pumpkin spice cookies, took them to work and they were a hit! I saved some cupcakes for my little sis, whose favorite cake is pumpkin.

Nice. No reason to discard something that's old that still works, despite no longer being in the best condition. I feel like some people are too quick to chase after only the newest and shiniest thing while dumping things that may not necessarily look the prettiest anymore or have the fanciest features any longer, which only fills up landfills even more and drains one's personal finances. Good on you for being smart about this.

And, ugh, considering how incredibly hit and miss GameStop is, you definitely lucked out.

I cooked an English Sunday roast. Proud of my potatoes. Infused duck fat with rosemary and garlic and roasted them in that. Tossed them in the leftover herbs after. We're crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle.

Keep it up. It helps if as you're doing the things you couldn't/didn't feel like doing before but you are doing now you remind yourself these are the things that you were missing out on and have now gotten back. Can serve as encouragement and motivation to stick to your goals.

I experimented with making honeyed lemon pasta with sardines, surprisingly despite it seeming so random it has been one of the best meals I've ever eaten and cooked. Shame I've been stuck at home for weeks due to storms and I've been jostling with trying to get a job for over a year with no success despite having a lot of work experience.
It's been hard staying in good spirits when there's a hundred things stressing me the hell out each and every day.

That sounds awesome. I love pumpkin. I could eat it straight out of the can, even, haha. But yeah, the homemade stuff is generally almost always gonna top the junk sold in stores. Sure I could just head out to the store and pick up a variety of pumpkin cupcakes, cookies, and whatnot, but I'm likely to taste more sugar than anything, probably to mask all the additives and artificial chemicals... and the stuff still costs a lot despite the cheap crap ingredients.

Used 2 onions, a can of sardines, 1 spoon of butter, 2 spoons of honey, a few cuttings of sweet pepper, a teaspoon of garlic scented salt and a bit of English sauce (Worcestershire). Put it on hot water and low fire for roughly a bit more than 30 minutes, I'm not too sure on the amount of water that's optimal yet, but it has to be just enough for the honey to sink into the pasta. Then after it's all done you poor a bit of lemon over it.
It's something I came up with myself due to boredom, the meat used with the pasta can be pretty much anything, I just use sardines because they're cheap.

I got a PB doing Alttp randomizer with crosskey plus random enemies and bosses (03:12:29.05 in-game time), didn't even find the flute. Life's been pretty shit lately so I've been trying to find happiness in hobbies I used to engage with. For the longest time I thought I'd already peaked when it came to doing randomizers, but it's good to know I can still get better at them even when I struggle to do more than the most basic glitches.

I had sleep paralysis earlier this morning, fairly common for me but this time it felt like I was being pulled out of my body. I fought back out of instinct and when I woke up my heart was racing.
I wonder if I didn't fight back would I have just died in my sleep? I guess my body wants to live more than my mind does.
That aside my sleep schedule has been normalized for about a week now, gonna try to keep it that way and slowly pivot towards looking for a job.

I feel the same so at least you're not alone there. I picked up some new hobbies recently that aren't computer related. While they're solo activities, I sleep easier at night knowing that I've been productive, in my own view at least. I just ignore the part where everyone else considers me a waste of space despite having a tiring job.

Thatโ€™s the thing. I donโ€™t know what I like beyond the โ€œusualโ€ like video games and hanging with my friends. I want to socialize more and get into more hobbies/communities but Iโ€™m used to sticking to myself. Even beyond hobbies I donโ€™t know what I want as a career. Just doing โ€œsimpleโ€ office work because itโ€™s something that takes little effort but I donโ€™t want to spend the rest of my life doing this. More than anything I just want stuff to look forward to besides products being sold to me (though stuff like game nights with a group of friends would be cool. Most of my friends arenโ€™t really โ€œgamersโ€)
>>58361405
Thank you for sharing it does help. Maybe I should genuinely touch grass and find some stuff to do outside of technology. Thatโ€™s always been my area of interest but maybe branching out will help?
