I've been considering that very goal. The issue I see is the expense of ex trades. I don't see a point in spending tons of dust trading for cards I technically already have. If I'm able to get most ex cards from my pulls, then I'll move forward with this goal. Do you think the foil cards will have a trade cost? I am missing 9 ex cards that would complete playsets, most notably stokezard. I can't draw poliwrath from this set, so I will hope I get another copy of those 8 and maybe trade for them next month if I don't. i plan to do that myself and don't forsee ex trades being much of an issue. i have 200k dust stored up and around another 50k incoming from opening deluxe set packs since they give so much dust. napkin math says i'll be missing 20-25 ex cards from the set, which is 100k-125k, but there's also the matter of the 720 refund for each because they're all dupes so it's actually less than that. more like 85-105k.
finding people for all the foil trades is going to be a bigger issue, imo. especially the three-diamonds, since those only have a 20% chance to be foil and a lot of them are actually viable and thus in high demand from people who want to use them, not just collectors.
and i'm guessing the foils will cost the same to trade as their regular variants, since they're treated as such by the collection UI.

dialga was always just way too fucking slow. even in dialga/arceus, the absolute best deck the card ever had, you weren't actually getting arceus online any faster by ramping it and dialga was basically just a shitty meatshield that you could retreat for free after doing 30 chip damage.

I know you can include in your deck variants of certain cards and play them as long as they're called the same and do the same.

If a card like this does the same as the current rotation's Professor Research but is from a rotation long gone (this one is D), can you still play them or you should play the ones in rotation G?

Nothing good, Arceus ex is better in every conceivable way. If you had to use it I would use it in an electric deck and just ignore its 1 energy attack. Use electric's energy generation to use the 3 energy move and budding explorer to get out after landing a quick attack or you can just retreat and swap energy to a new mon since it only has a retreat cost of 1 (its only benefit over arceus)

when you're running 10+ basics, having arceus as your only nuke is pretty inconsistent so some people (myself included) opt to run some snorlax ex copies to basically be a shitty arceus
there's a lot of variance to the deck list, it's easily the most flexible deck the game has ever had
arceus, darkrai, and two energy babies are mandatory, but then you can add copies of the third energy baby, tyrogue, komala, snorlax ex, etc
i like komala myself but some people use tyrogue to kill funnybird since it doesn't require any energy investment
even pokeball is optional because it's not much help when over half your deck is basics anyway, can be better to have room for trainers

anyway just look up a deck list online and experiment if it doesn't feel right for you

You forgot the part where Tsareena has the single best heal in the game, only gives 1 point when it dies, occupies less deck space than Celebi + Serp and all while having the same hp and dealing the same average as Celebi but 1 turn earlier, for less energy, independently and more consistently. By the time Celebi outpaces Tsareena it's getting killed or countered. Oh and Tsareena doesn't care about Oricorio.

at absolute best, you can do 100 damage on turn 3 going first with celebi and the megafuck godhand of celebi/snivy/serperior/rarecandy, and even then you have only a 25% chance to do so unless you also draw will in which case it's 50% to do that 100 damage

also, tsareena not being vulnerable to red means there's a good amount of decks that simply can't oneshot it since guzma is becoming less and less popular and 160 damage in one turn without red is a tall ask. a deck like darkrai arceus will never be able to take down tsareena in one go since it caps out at 150 damage and doesn't run guzma, but it can kill celebi since it runs red.
this is not to say that tsareena is good (it's not) but it certainly outclasses celebi.

right now I can only trade for 8 2 stars. This is my alt that saved all the dust and was going with me since day 1, doing GP and all that crap. That is to say, you will not be completing sets even with 2*s being able to be traded. The one good thing this gives me is that Red Gyarados is tradeable and now I will be able to complete that fucking quest. I'd advice on saving your dust for hidden missions that involved 2*s for emblems but that's just a humble take.

I'm f2p since launch also (very active to claim the freebies) and at 6k cards I've maxed on my dex collection besides Deluxe EX nonsense, binders full of 2*+, can make/have made about any deck I've wanted to, and still have 2k pack hourglasses 150k shinedust to spare. My collection in that luck calculator site thing was only about average.
