That's the tragedy of it all anon, you become almost a demigod legend, you beat everyone that comes your way, you catch any pokemon you want, you tame legendaries and ride on the back of divinde dragons.
But Just like all legends, you start to age, your pokemon get old. You still on the top of the region tho, but you slowly realize little things poping up, your starter gets a little slower, your quick thinking a little bit outdated, the next battle makes you a little less excited.
You now understand why red tried to climb that mountain almost like having a death wish, no one wants to see the Region's Hero get old, so either you retire and try to find solace in living life among the other mortals, or try to keep defending your place, eventually beign bested by another upstart that takes your throne, leaving you playing second fiddle.
