>internet thinks the whole carmine being a dick to her brother thing is normal and fine
>(and not like petty sibling squabbles, full on 'he's whiny and his feelings don't matter' in teal mask to 'idk why he's on this outburst, he's just being a little bitch' in indigo disk)
I'll steelman their argument some level of hazing/teasing comes with the older sibling position, and much of what Carmine does is just looking out for him, and it's clear the grandparents step in is she goes to far (grandpa out right tells her be nice to Kieran). And ID Kieran was clearly in the wrong with how he was turning a fun club to a mini-dictatorship over his personal hangups and obsession with (you)
That being said, the people calling him a "little bitch" either rushes through the story, lack media literacy, or are trolling (all three quite common in the pokemon fandom). Like he spends most of TM either cowering behind Carmine or FROM her due to her tantrums. And the fact that the grandparent HAVE to tell her to be kind to her little brother and she seems to think whatever she does is fine as long as she doesn't hit him is ... Troubling. And we blatantly lie to him about something very important to him. And when he has literal mental breakdown in front of her face Carmine's only response is "teenage angst" um, fucking what?
>I'd be all for a little booli'ing if it wasn't for the fact that the game forces you to actually hurt him cuz 'haha he's just a little snot nosed kid who cares'
Would it have been better if the player could tell Kieran about the orge but it results in him getting upset and running off the get the orge himself and it results in the end of TM happening the same way. Having Kieran actively making the choice to be unreasonable would make the at least the excessive punishment he goes through at least have some point since it would be shown that talking wouldn't work with him
