BUG-TYPES
This is a Bug-type thread. It's for creeping, crawling, nesting, gestating, and posting about Bugs.

>What's your favorite Bug-type? Does it correspond with what your favorite real-world bug is?

Vespiquen. Not really, my favorite insect is the Stag Beetle. I do love Vikavolt though.
>Is Bug your favorite type?
No, it's my second favorite after Steel.
>Who's your favorite Bug-type specialist?
They are all kinda shit to me. Maybe Viola because she is cute, or Burgh because i like artist trainers.
>Ever do a monobug run? Or build a monobug team?
No but i might in the future.

>What's your favorite Bug-type? Does it correspond with what your favorite real-world bug is?
Volcarona my beloved. Honestly it does correspond to my favorite bugs, I love moths, they’re just too cute.
Honorable mention to Wormadam, she’s another favorite of mine that doesn’t get enough love. Technically she’s also a moth!
>Is Bug your favorite type?
In terms of how many pokemon of that type I like it’s really up there, maybe second to Grass.
>Who's your favorite Bug-type specialist?
I’ve always been partial to Aaron. He showed me that some Bug types are actually pretty good.
>Ever do a monobug run? Or build a monobug team?
I haven’t, but I could see it being fun in FRLG. There’s a neat variety in that gen, with Scyther and Pinsir being your main attackers, Butterfree, Parasect, and Venomoth providing status support, and Beedrill being moral support lol
>Will we ever get a Bug-type starter?
I feel it’s unlikely for as long as early game bugs are a thing. It’d be cool though.

This cutie. Not sure what my favorite IRL bug is, but bees are cool, and Ribombee is a beefly (not a real bee), so it's close enough.

Possibly. Got a lot of great designs.
>Who's your favorite Bug-type specialist?

I use monobug in Showdown. Araquanid, Ribombee, Volcarona, Heracross, Scizor, Ferrothorn.

Armaldo! I am kinda sad that he isn't mentioned very much in Bug threads. I don't really know what my favorite IRL bug is, and I am not sure that Anomalocaris were bugs.

>What's your favorite Bug-type? Does it correspond with what your favorite real-world bug is?
While I think bug types really hit their stride in later gens, I have to go with my childhood favorite Heracross. I haven't put a lot of thought into my favorite species of bugs but rhinocaurus beetles are pretty cool and considering Kabbu is also my favorite from Bug Fables, I suppose I am drawn to beetles.
>Is Bug your favorite type?
Absolutely, the type simply doesn't miss. Love the underdog status that has kind of seen a turnaround in recent years. When I filled out my favorites chart, bug was the most recurring type overall.
>Who's your favorite Bug-type specialist?
Guzma, of course. He really embodied the type in a way I don't think we'll ever see again. Big fan of Burgh too, his sprite animation from BW2 lives rent-free in my head to this day.
>Ever do a monobug run? Or build a monobug team?
I haven't, but I've thought about it. Feel like it would be pretty rough at the start with all the first and second stages but really come together in the end.
>Will we ever get a Bug-type starter?
I highly doubt it, but would love it and would very likely become my favorite starter by default.

Heracross rules, total champ. My favorites are honeybees and stick bugs. I used to keep bees.
>Is Bug your favorite type?
No, but I'm rooting for you guys.
>Who's your favorite Bug-type specialist?
Bugsy I suppose, I couldn't name another one off the top.
>Ever do a monobug run? Or build a monobug team?
Yes.
The FireRed run needs a touch of prep before the E4 and is carried by Scyther, Venomoth, and Butterfree. Parasect has dig and Beedrill has Brick Break, I'll see if it's enough. I had a surprise shiny Geodude and Graveler has six limbs, so big maybe on actually using it.
In Emerald I'm just before Lavaridge and desperate enough to use Volbeat. The E4 team should be better with Heracross and Armoldo but it's been slim pickings in Hoenn so far. I did nab a shiny Gulpin and he's okay, probably won't make the final team.
>Will we ever get a Bug-type starter?

I mean, that's what technically means here: by the strict definition of regional formes, they are not those. But practically speaking, they're slightly tweaked designs of this Pokemon, so are functionally the same (Except I guess they're also single stage lines).

don't share dex numbers and aren't connected to the evolution line, therefore they aren't true regional forms

No? technicalities are things that people overlook, non-standard. By no definition are paradoxies regional forms unless THAT'S by technicality.

>What's your favorite Bug-type? Does it correspond with what your favorite real-world bug is?
Favorite is Scolipede with Volcarona as a close second. This does correspond with my favorite bugs, since my favorites are millipedes and moths/butterflies.
>Is Bug your favorite type?
Yep. 100%!
>Who's your favorite Bug-type specialist?
Hard to say. Probably Guzma or Burgh.
>Ever do a monobug run? Or build a monobug team?
I’ve never done a monotype run before, but if I did, bug would be the first of my list to try.
>Will we ever get a Bug-type starter?
Unfortunately, probably not. I hope we will, but I just don’t see it happening. Could be wrong though. Stranger things have happened.
