Literally all they needed to do with the design to make it work was either make the Totodile head an actual helmet or have it fold back farther instead of sticking straight up so it doesn't look stupid.

They often DO do that with Megas, but its usually more subtle shit, like Bulbasaur's spots on MVenu, or Shelgon's more pronounced shell oh MMence... not a big fuck off head like that.

it's even worse doing it with specifically Feraligatr when it's one of the starters that changes the least from the first form. For Dragonite, the fan outcry of its dramatic changes from Dragonair were at least there. I literally don't get the point with Feraligatr

they are literally under the impression that Feraligatr is a forgotten mon compared to Totodile, probably due to polling, and so they did this. also the designer may be a big fan of Totodile, who knows. you can tell there are way too many cooks in the kitchen for the starter designs.
