The Feraligatr parts that aren't a part of Totodile being dark blue as if they're supposed to be invisible is so corny. They really were like "god I wish you were Totodile"

It's clearly supposed to be the arms transforming given the spikes also increase in size. This kind of thing is all over Pokemon's model design (you can even see it on Barbaracle's mega too)-rather than rigging the base mesh to transform into the next state they model both forms of the arms and then swap between them when needed.

I like the idea but honestly the false upper maw could be done a lot better, like being split into two pieces that fold into shoulder pads or back armour like that Digivolving Agumon toy with the Gaia Shield wings. Yeah, give him wings to justify a Dragon-type.

I'm also trying to force myself to like, it the most straight foward of the starter when it comes to gameplay so I think it is the best one to dive into the new combat system, you pretty get all the moves you want for a decent set of attacks from just leveling up (aqua jet, liquidation, crunch and breaking swipe) but man the mega design is so bad, the fact they needed to make a second set of deformed arms that disapear when the thing opens up give me the vibes they were really trying to force this thing to work.

The worse part is that if they had made this thing quadrupedal with the hood closed instead of trying to force the totodile reference it would have look alright, not amazing but alright
