The one I have was apparently caught in "jaune sector 11", where ever that is. The pokedex habitat only says they live in high places, I assume a roof. I'm not sure there's any labels on the map so the only travel spot I have that seems relevant is a pokecenter to the far east.

Are there any other hairstyles you can buy/get outside the ones in the base hairdressers? I find the selection in that one rather underwhelming so I wonder if there's more

Credit where credit's due - these characters are a vast improvement over what we had before. The animations are fun and varied, designs went back to Take's style (thank fuck), and the models are really nice.
The interiors also look really good, I wish the outside was as detailed.

There’s no set level for alphas I think, they tend to be like 15 levels above the other mons in the area from what I’ve seen

I don't think it's very good. There's only 230-odd Pokemon, and the game takes its sweet time getting you access to them all. The loop of completing rank-up matches is very tedious.
It's also extremely easy to become overleveled, but that's just an exp share issue.
