Ironically, making the skull smaller would make the proportions closer to Totodile. Plus, the arms wouldn't need to stretch out so much.

Have you noticed that not a single one of the fan interpretations prior to the reveal had anything regarding a massive totodile shoehorned into the design?

That's the single biggest feature dragging down this stupid ass mega. GF, instead of designing a mega FERALIGATR decided to instead sit down and design and mega totodile which in turn gave birth to this abomination that needs two separate 3d models in order to achieve.

Starmie in particular is an actual fucking insult. Like they literally just pulled its limbs out in fucking blender - no need to even make a new model, just straight up stretch it. Looks like when they fucking mod Pikachu over Bayonetta in smash or some shit. Like I seriously can't believe they saw it and thought it'd be acceptable. It's blowing my mind.

Yet another thing that proves my theory that they aren't even designing this shit in 2D first anymore. If they had sat down to draw this concept in 2D before modeling it, they would have quickly realized it doesn't work in its current form. But just taking the existing 3D models and randomly slapping shit on top of them in Blender allows them to get away with not putting any real thought into what works. And they know you'll still buy it anyway.

They didn't need to do that to create Totodile. Totodile's actual proportions are closer to what it would look like if they didn't stretch its arms, they just had to make it oversized for le epic may may.

Thing is if they were going to break conventional rules to have the arms stretch, at least they could have made the helmet/hood fully retractable as well.

The reason the mega looks bad is that there’s a stupid urinal standing over Gatr’s head 90% of the time. I’m predicting future depictions will have the helmet folded down more in the idle stances.
