male meowstic always had the support movepool and earth power is exactly what female meowstic needed because it couldn't hit steels
now if they could just get stats beyond that of a middle stage starter that would be great
Except for taunt everything male meowstic got shit is irrelevant in real formats. Female got the better boost. Problem of them having shitmon stats will.not be fixed until dlc.

Male Meowstic is a supportmon with Prankster.
Female Meowstic is a, and I use this term loosely, "special attacker" with Competitive.
So male Meowstic gets support moves and female Meowstic gets special attacks.

given that they're both psychic types with low BST a mega would not save them unless it was comically overpowered
especially female meowstic, since mega alakazam exists and it has ~150 points of spatk and speed over meowstic so even if you dumped all of the points into those two stats it would still be shit and outclassed

even if they for some reason give it the mega beedrill treatment it's still going to be worse than mega alakazam, and if they go the opposite route and make it defensive it's going to be painfully outclassed by the myriad defensive psychic types that can actually hold items

If Absol's mega was solid but not fantastic back in gen 6, mega Chimecho certainly won't be good now, but honestly I'm fine with that.
I'm just happy it's getting a mega in the first place
