I'll bite, we have affordable clean energy already in nuclear power. Solar and wind cannot meet the demands necessary of the planet at our current tech level, so what this implies is not that we will dump money and jobs into R&D for that but instead it means to force people to use busses.

Given that Pokémon is all about friendship with living creatures and exploring diverse ecosystems, it’s only natural that they’re environmentalists at heart. But since big international companies are the ones polluting the most, I wonder how much TPCI contributes to pollution through their plushies alone.

What compels you to believe that living in completely different climates for hundreds thousands of years has caused evolution to make human races noticeably different on a physical and physiological level, but would have somehow left them perfectly equal on an intellectual and behavioral level?
Since when is nature egalitarian and since when does it care about our feelings and what we consider "fair" when shaping the world?

Renewable energy sources are presented as the only solution to the energy problem and fossil ones are demonized, which really hampers finding a sustainable solution because "you are le bad if you disagree" and causes more problems than it solves. Just look at the fuck up that is Germany's energy policy.

>>58418939
>isn't affordable
Other energy sources also require infrastructure that needs to be built and maintained, so that's not convincing.
>isn't clean
It doesn't produce CO2 which everyone supposedly cares about. And radioactive waste can be controlled quite well, if you use reactor types that aren't ticking time bombs (4th gen reactors like molten uranium salts are said to be meltdown proof).
>not renewable
It's enough to last the next millenias. It's recyclable, but because it's cheaper to just mine natural reserves that recycle spent rods, it's currently not a wide spread practice, as long as natural uranium is abundant. Also account for Thorium being another viable element, which hasn't been sapped yet because research is still in progress (e.g. in China).

>>58419326
Even if you improve solar and wind, you will still need power sources that can produce energy in defined quantities. Energy yielded by solar and wind fluctuates (depending on location and weather), and that's a really bad thing if you want to keep something delicate as an energy grid up and running. The slightest deviation can cause damages in devices and thus blackouts.

Most fossils power sources like coal, gas and nuclear can give defined quantities which can be used to keep the grid stable. Most renewable sources like solar and wind cannot, (water turbines are one exception, but those power plants are limited to bodies of water). That's something you cannot change with technical improvements, because it's the very nature of those power sources.

Last thing, nuclear is the best option as long as fusion energy (= clean nuclear) isn't profitable.

1. No middle class
2. Limited food you’re allowed to buy
3. Forced cancer shots called vaccines and you pay for other people’s healthcare and we let big pharma force people to take their medicine and drain tons of money from people
4. No homeschool and kids must get molested by trans people at school
5. We can convince children they are “the wrong gender” and that that makes them like a super hero, and force surgery mutilation on them.
6. Cripple people with “clean water” fees so they’re even poorer
7. Assassinate all alternative energy inventors for the past 70 years and then claim we want clean energy but really it will just be rolling blackouts and even more expensive
8. Slavery, we will make some people slaves more than they already are
9. Corperations will be like local Marquis and Dukes that use AI drones to enforce their “laws” on the populace
10. You have to give black people your shit because your IQ is unequal to them
11. Prison cities and roadblock checkpoints
12. Bureaucracy saying how much you can buy and make of everything, making prices go wild and forcing people to stop working and making money if they do too well (dump your milk so the price doesn’t go down, we can’t have cheap milk)
13. Control the weather with new technology and blame it on that people aren’t taxed enough on being alive
14. Ban fishing or boating so people can’t escape to the oceans
15. Ban going in to the woods so people can’t escape into the forests
16. War, injustice, and chaotic un-sensible institutions that are nearly impossible to deal with
17. Foreign assets that will move in to enforce all this once people get mad

Anon, nuclear power is perhaps the most dangerous means of energy production currently in existence. All it takes is one monster of a storm, a terrible earthquake, a terror attack through cyber hacking or more conventional means, human error or deliberate human action, and you're risking catastrophic nuclear meltdown. Yes, there are safeguards. Yes, the likelihood of any of the above happening is relatively low.

But the risk is unnecessary in the first place when you have the sun, an energy source that will likely outlast all of humanity, or at least long enough for humanity to develop the means to effectively travel the stars and settle on other worlds. If we had been developing solar technology as a priority these past decades, we'd likely be at the point where it would be the primary source of energy for the planet. One "theoretical calculation suggesting that covering just 1.2% of the Sahara Desert with solar panels could theoretically generate enough energy to power the entire world." We could do it, but the oil lobbyists keep paying off corrupt politicians to keep these safe and green alternative energy sources from cutting off their crazy profits, and really, very existence.

While I'm not confident GF can incorporate the Substainable Development Goals into a Pokemon game while keeping it fun and holding players' attention, they're all goals that, at their core, would make life better and ensure future generations have a better chance of survival as well keep ecosystems healthy and beautiful for all to benefit from and enjoy.
