They tried to replicate her success with Marnie but failed because the game didn't focus on her to the same extent and she was bland AF with that one cute smile moment everyone remembers. Lillie on the other hand had actual depth and story relevance, you actually felt something when Lusamine finally accepted that Lillie was beautiful and snapped out of her shit (at least in SM, USUM completely ruined the Lillie family story). They tried again with Penny and her bullied girl schtick except made her ugly so it didn't work.
