Because Pokémon is Japanese and it has a lot of inspiration from Japanese things that goes completely unrecognized elsewhere.

Night Slash is called つじぎり (tsujigiri, from 辻斬り), which comes 辻 (tsuji; crossroad) and 斬り (cut/killing via something sharp). There would be samurai who would randomly cut down and kill peasants passing through crossroads to test out the sharpness of their sword.
The Japanese names of many Fighting-type moves are straight up techniques used in martial arts and sumo, but a lot of these technique names don't exist in English, so they can only be localized as something else, losing puns and wordplay as well as some of the imagery.
Fake Out is ねこだまし (nekodamashi) which is literally "cat deception". It's a sumo move where one competitor suddenly slaps their hands to briefly surprise/disorient the other, like what you would do to a cat. The Japanese name is why all cat-based Pokémon can learn it through level-up.

I'm saying that the Japanese shit behind Pokémon makes it more interesting. Pyroar and Mega Pyroar are boring, ugly designs and that has nothing to do with the 火 and 炎 kanji, which is a cool idea conceptually. I actually expected Mega Pyroar to have the 炎 kanji for its mane months ago, it was so obvious that they were going to do it, that's how natural of an idea it is. But Mega Pyroar's big anime eyes (and nobody tell me Kimba/Jungle Emperor Leo had anime eyes) and mane that would put Marge Simpson to shame ruin it. It's goofy. Fire Blast being the 大 kanji is a cool reference, it's an attack named and designed after one specific cultural thing.

I think Incineroar is the best example of this problem previous, before the canon design got leaked/confirmed all we got was the most bland and straightforward "it needs to just be a mean/cool cat on fire" ethos for final evo designs and then GF says "pro wrestler tiger with a fucking chakra motif" and it fucking slaps because you get the cultural context of Tiger Mask/Jeeg of all things as well as playing into cats' natural tendency to wrestle with each other.

Plenty of them do, they just try to actually incorporate the inspirations into the designs with even slightly more subtlety than Game Freak currently do, which is what Pokemon's official deign philosophy clearly used to be before they decided every concept and reference must be so obvious that it overwhelms the entire design and is impossible to miss. Case in point, "pro wrestler tiger with a chakra motif" is indeed a cool as fuck concept, but the actual design is complete fucking ass with no attempt to incorporate the ideas in clever ways. Just compare Incineroar literally just having a wrestling belt made of fire slapped onto it to something like Greninja just one gen prior actually combining its frog and ninja concepts cleverly by using its own tongue as a scarf.
