it will only have the regions we know (kanto, johto, hoenn, sinnoh, islands and kitakami) and won't add anything else
travel from disconnected regions will not be seamless, you VILL take the train or boat and you VILL be happy

Why do none of the original games feel Japanese even if they're in Japan? With other regions it's obvious it's France, America, Spain etc, but the original few regions have no theming to them. Nothing about them makes you feel you're in the Japan of the Pokeworld.

Imagine GF decides to have the game take place many years later, and all the characters from these regions are dead, but as you progress across the region, you come across clues to what happened to them, remanents of forgotten towns, cities that have grown in size that only exhibit traces of the cities they once were, and wilderness areas such as caves and forests that have undergone changes of some kind or another due to weather and climate, human and/or Pokemon conflict, and disasters. Perhaps even hints that the region has fallen into something of a dystopia, and you, along with NPCs you meet along the way, work to rebuild and restore the land, through resources you gather, Pokemon and their abilities, and events that are determined by the decisions you make that shape the future of the region.
