I have to say, these mega evolution cutscenes look really cool, I wouldn't even mind if they played every time not just once per load

I'm starting to realize how lame it is that you need a mega evolution pokemon for the big rogue battles. You can check in Quasar or the stone boutique for which early megastones are up for sale and decided. Scolipede, Hawlucha and Ampharos I believe are not with the initial batch, but Lopunny, Lucario, Gyarados and plenty others are as well as Charizard and Blastoise but not Venusaur.

as you move the plot forward, you will get a sidequest inside the lab that teaches you that you can buy fossils there and puts you in a fetch quest to do just that and revive the pokemon. After that you can use the service whenever you want. Relatively early side quest.

I'm surprised the main story had a segment where you can just catch a Gengar and not have to worry about the trade nonsense. I failed to catch them (because I was retarded and wasn't thinking about it at the time), but I reloaded before the autosave kicked in and you can catch one. That's pretty neat.

Are there any easy high level fixed alphas that are good to use on a team right away?

I don't know how to feel about how Wild zones are implemented. I think it would be nicer if things looked more overgrown and there was a sense of nature reclaiming the city, but right now it just looks weird when you just have abandoned stalls and cars and Pokemon walking around a mostly pristine environment.

Turbo EXP: trade surplus megashards for EXP candies, max shard plushie and look for the spots with lots of stuff to break. You will get a lot of candies back, alphas do give your EXP candy + their own EXP

Yeah, the game saves 10 shinies across the map at once and as long as you don't KO it or spook it in the case of mons like Pichu, Espurr, etc, it'll aways stay until you do deal with it or spawn past 10 shinies.

The problem is that Gamefreak just isn't the kind of developer who can pull off making a singular city feel good. They could have made the city more lively by having NPCs doing more stuff in the background. There could have been basic traffic going on. The districts could have been more unique by having say a Chinatown or something or at least creating economically diverse districts like having a poor area that is more rustic buildings and houses while a high end area could have been more modern looking buildings.

i don't understand how the plus move system works

i went into a battle royale and i got a card that asked me to use plus moves 3 times

however, none of my plus moves actually counted for the card until i used them while mega evolved. this indicates to me that the plus doesn't actually do anything until the pokemon is mega evolved, which makes no sense

No? when mega evolved all moves are just automatically plus moves.

When not mega evolved you have to manually pick toggle on a plus move (at the cost of gauge)

You press the start/plus button to activate it when in non-mega form. The plus moves are used automatically in mega form which is why you were getting credit there.

How to use Move+ manually without megaevolving:
1-Aim to target, pokemon or not
2-Press + button, you will see the system is activated because the icons now glow for the moves that are now Move+ tier (they have that one icon)
3-Use move, it will eat a segment of the megaring bar

How to use Move+ while megaevolving:
1-Press the Megaevolution button
2-Any move currently in the move slots becomes Move+ regardless of mastery
3-Aim to target, pokemon or not
4-Use move

While megaevolved, all moves will automatically use the Move+ system but any pokemon that has them can make use of the damage boost. You do not need Megaevolution to do the Rogue battles, what megaevolution gives is their regular stat boost and that all their moves become Move+ otherwise anypokemon can damage them with a boost using the system

I was curious and did some testing and it seems that Calm Mind lasts ~3 seconds longer (~12 vs ~15s) and Wish heals about .1X more max HP (.33 vs .433). No changes in intensity.
For temp status moves and healing moves the length/health buff should also apply but I don't see anything outside of faster chargeup for permanent status moves
