The game runs smoother because the visuals look like shit. Yet every other studio, including indies with pocket change compared to gamefreak/tpc, manage to make their games look great AND run well.
Expedition 33 is a phenomenal game made by a small studio that came out of nowhere this year. It's legitimately goty material.
Pokémon is the top grossing franchise in the world, by a long shot. Yet we see from the leaks that while the devs were making something at least passable for a game in 2025, the final product is always shit.
Their budget is also way lower than most games now, to the point where they make 1000% back in profit. They could dip into that to make a more quality product, but they don't, because Pokémon cultists and children will buy whatever slop they dish out. Case in point, day 1 dlc/online fomo/live service shit/dlc announced before the game released. They only want your money and it shows in the quality of their product.
People giving this garbage a 7/10 are legitimately insulting the thousands of other game studios who have to work their asses off yet will never match Pokémon's numbers simply because the "fanbase" refuse to experience other games to develop some fucking standards.
Even the Monster Hunter community ripped so hard into the newest entry that Capcom is having to make massive changes to address core issues, like performance, update dry spells, fomo, lack of content, and difficulty.
Protesting and boycotting DO WORK but people like you buy it anyway and say "but it's not even that bad" like they're a little indie studio just trying to get by and not a massive mega corporation greedily sitting on their cash while taking advantage of your loyalty.
